Dallas is a wonderful place to see, it's Beautiful and scenic with lots of stuff to do, the only down side it that the roads are a little confusing and there's traffic, it's also a little difficult to find parking but aside from that It's lovely

The purposes of my trip were several: 1) Part of a longer trip including solar eclipse observation; 2) Explore Dealey Plaza and 6th Floor Museum; 3) See G.W. Bush museum. However, I discovered Dallas in general to be safe, charming and walk-able.

Bishop Arts District is just up 8th Street to Bishop Ave. Lots of restaurants, shopping, and of course art. The historic Texas Theatre where Lee Harvey Oswald was arressted is just down Jefferson Ave a few blocks and within walking distance.

There's a lot to do in Dallas; however, it is not exactly a pedestrian city, overall. That said, if it hadn't been so hot, we could have walked to most of the restaurants that we dined in, to the Dallas Museum of Art, to the nearby park.

Flew into Love Field (downtown) airport instead of DFW and "loved" the experience! Beautiful, human-scale airport, easy to get downtown on public transit or cab. Enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods like Deep Ellum.

You should check out the Samurai collection at the Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum. Worth a stop, with a lovely restaurant on the first floor.
"Location was great. They have a curtesy shuttle that will drive you within a 3-mile radius so I able to get a ride to American Airlines center and then walked back that night after a concert. I had an Expedia VIP perk of having $30 off on food but caveat being that when ordering room service, you have to pay an amenity fee which was $25 and the food was >than $30 so not sure the perk is useful when used in this way as I could get something way cheaper elsewhere. My preference is for beds and pillows to be firmer and theirs was quite soft and sunken so did not sleep well. It was quiet and the room was nice overall."
