Very much a family hotel. Lots of pride taken by servers, bar staff and owners. Only draw back is the street out front at night is very loud with young men.

Very happy stay
Buccleuch Arms is a very well run hotel. We got a friendly welcome and our room was very clean. There were good quality biscuits and teabags etc with the hostess tray. Breakfast and dinner and the preferred timeing needed to be pre ordered but we had no problem with this. The food came out piping hot and it was totally delicious Our dog was made welcome Throughout our stay the hotel proprietor was constantly on hand making sure everyone was happy and ready to give advice on things to do and see during our stay. We were very well looked after indeed

A great hotel and great atmosphere
A great hotel with great service. The only comment to improve would be have a spread of cereals and breakfast items to choose rather than have to pre-order. No problem with ordering the cooked breakfast.

Lovely family run Hotel
Very friendly family owners, nothing was a bother and they are very knowledgeable about the local area, lovely breakfast, didn't have dinner at hotel only because our dog wasn't allowed in, heard it was lovely though, room basic but very clean. We would definitely stay again, our border terrier fell in love with gorgeous boy blue the hotel dog, the owners love dogs. If your visiting the lovely village of Moffat, I would definitely recommend the bucceleugh.

This is how a hotel should be
Brilliant hotel especially for visitors on motorcycles. The owners can't do enough for you and are super friendly. Their dedication to customer service is first class. The food is superb and has a couple of classic South African dishes - very exotic for Moffat! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Amazing stay
Had a lovely stay. It's a bikers hotel which was great as we love bikes Staff and owner very friendly and helpful. It was my birthday and I came down to breakfast with a birthday banner and sticker on my table with staff wishing me happy birthday, and I was brought out a cupcake with a lighted candle. Also owner came and wished me happy birthday at breakfast. We were given local routes to explore which owner talked us through. we went on one and area was breathtakingly beautiful. Nothing too much trouble and all staff very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again loved every minute of the stay.

Fantastic Hotel
My first visit to this beautiful hotel was a great experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful to ensure my 3 night stay was enjoyable. My room was excellent with a modern on-suite bathroom and spotlessly clean. Both breakfast and dinner were first class and the steak pie is on another level. Facilities for bikers are probably the best in the UK and the location itself in Moffat is a biking / walking paradise and relatively traffic free. Dave kindly offered to download routes and share his local knowledge to enhance the days riding. Wish I could have stayed longer to explore the area further. I will be back

An Old Fashioned Comfortable Hotel
We enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay. The friendly owners go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible. The Hotel has a character and charm that a Travelodge could never achieve! Lots of interesting pictures of old Moffat. The room, breakfast and service was very good. The owner David has great local knowledge and has a comprehensive list of local walks from the Hotel. Definitely a walker and biker friendly Hotel. Only downside was that the bar and restaurant were shut for the winter (economic reasons). But they provide a sitting room crockery and cutlery so you can bring in a take away. There are plenty of good places to eat in Moffat. The Buccleugh Arms are highly recommend.

10 Star! Absolute Must for Bikers!
I would give the Buccleuch Arms 10 stars if I could. If you are a biker and riding through Scotland then you MUST stop by. The family are bikers and they understand what you need. They have dry rooms, a map room, locked garages (that you need to reserve in advance). After a hair raising, trouser staining ride through the snow in Glencoe, I could not have asked for a better welcome. I was early and looking like I had come out of a loch and they could not do enough to make me feel welcome, comfortable and DRY. The breakfast is also the best Scottish breakfast I have ever had. It is SUPERB! This was not my first time here and it will not be my last! You don't have to be on your bike for a warm welcome here. Thank you to everyone at the hotel. It was appreciated.
