"Great stay in a very spacious 2 bed apartment. Thought it was the apartments located at the back of the hotel, but they were located about 7 minutes away. We’re told there was only one car parking space so one car parked in a multi storey. One of us rang before to ask about the nearest car park, we were told but weren’t told they had 50% discounts with 2 in particular, which would have been helpful! When we go to the apartment, there was easy enough room for 2 cars so we could have actually parked both cars there. On check in, I assume it was the same person on the end of the phone who didn’t tell us about the car park, said very little, gave us a map of where to find the accommodation, no verbal directions to tell us where to find it, you know, turn right walk 2 minds and the T take a left….. would have been the polite thing to do I thought. Then where I asked it this towards the river? The reply … yes. Overall we found it very informative and unhelpful to be honest."

"Hi we were allocated an upgrade which was pleasing as we have visited a few times. Once again could not have been more welcome by ALL Staff not just reception. The hotel from every aspect is clean as a whistle, (try a visit to its next door neighbour and you can check the standard against it competition Breakfast was as ever delicious to eat and plated up showing the chefs pride in the fare delivered to our table, fresh, hot, cooked to perfection. Tried many hotels over 51 years of travelling as a family and this fare tops them all. During the weekend the bar gets busy without being noisy, music kept low so no shouting required bear &food flow to guests and many customers are locals"

"Generally our stay at the hotel was good. The location is good, the room was clean and functional and the breakfast was excellent with great service. The let down for us was that when we returned to the hotel, cold and wet (due to the storm) on the Friday evening we first went to the bar to warm up. I ordered 2 coffees for for my wife and I, but was told the coffee machine had been cleaned and no hot drinks were available, this was at 10.15pm. A supposed 5 star hotel could not supply a coffee? I then asked for a port for us both but was told we don't have any ?? We went straight back to our room. The good points of the hotel were negated by the attitude of the bar staff who couldn't be bothered to help. Will try another hotel next time we need to stay in Chester."

"There was an issue at check in regarding our family room whereby the expedia booking info hadn't pulled through correctly to the hotel. I would recommend emailing the hotel after booking to reconfirm everything. The family room was a decent size, although towels were stained and the free mini's were half used. The pool facilities were lovely. The pool was a little chilly, but jacuzzi very nice and warm."
