Top neighborhoods in Tokyo

Shinjuku

Shinjuku's neon-soaked streets pulse with energy from dusk till dawn. This Tokyo powerhouse mixes business with pleasure as skyscrapers tower over Asia's largest entertainment district. Getting around couldn't be easier with the world's busiest railway hub connecting you to everywhere in Tokyo. Choose from business hotels in gleaming towers or budget-friendly capsule accommodations. The neighborhood offers everything from quick ramen shops to upscale dining, with most spots open well into the night.

Shibuya

Dining options range from tempura houses to soba shops, with street food vendors offering affordable local treats. Traditional ryokan inns and boutique hotels let you sleep on tatami floors with futon beds. Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel

Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel

8/10 Good
"Hotel was very nice, clean and close to a station. Rooms were spacious and well lit. Some things could have an improvement in. Pool/bath & sauna area should be able to cater for international guests as well not being strict on the nude policy as you are in a hotel with foreign people it would be good to use those facilities and not worrying about being nude. Concierge needs an improvement as we asked on 2 times for help with booking an activity because we didnt have a phone that could make calls. They offered to call but then handed me the phone to speak with the people and they only spoke Japanese which we didnt so we had to explain to the co cierge what we were aksing and then it got passed on. There was a lot of mis communication and no offering of help, in the end we had to organise it outselves. The staff in the bar area were the only blessing as the bartender was well-versed and could make the drinks we asked for which was well needed after a long day."

A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal for exploring key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions such as temples, museums, monuments, urban shopping areas, architectural gems, flower exhibitions, natural parks, and seafood experiences. This affordable period offers great value for money on a budget, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Tokyo's rich history and vibrant culture.

  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your Tokyo hotel stay. For those interested in unique experiences, boutique hotels might offer a more personalised service and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than average. Should the price be on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels located near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but thanks to Tokyo's superb public transport links, you might come across a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. Opting for these alternative destinations could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
