Having stayed here previously, we were excited for yet another visit.
Greeted warmly by the valets and checked in smoothly (though I wish they gave a heads up about the potential noise level associated with the room, because we would have waited), we were feeling good to be back. We love the exposed concrete aesthetic that a lot of reviews complain about, and were happy to be back.
When we got to the room everything looked fine in the surface. Though to be honest, the desk has seen much better days, and with the way the top is bubbling it could be a liability soon. The attached sockets didn’t work at all. Most were just empty holes.
On one side of the room the sockets didn’t even seem to be able to hold a plug. They just fell right out. However there were plenty on the other side and in the seating area, so we dealt with that on our own.
Later in the day we realised the main light in the bathroom didn’t work, and the extractor fan was basically for decoration. But we got by with the ambient light of the under sink and behind the mirror lighting, so again just sucked it up, but wondered how housekeeping and/or maintenance hadn’t sorted these issues previously.
On previous stays we only had Hollywood Sign facing rooms so were in for a wake up call with the noise of Wilshire blvd and the thumping bass of the clubs all 3 nights. And by wake up I mean we STRUGGLED to sleep.
I addressed all issues at check out but left feeling nothing would be fixed with any urgency.
