The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is home to an extensive array of material relating to the Carter administration. In addition to genuine documents, you'll also find replicas of important objects within that paint a clearer picture of his tenure as president.

Anyone who is interested in history will find fun at this destination. The museum is certainly kid-friendly in the sense that they won't find anything inappropriate on display, but the exhibits are intended for older children, teens, and adults. Most people spend about an hour or so at the museum.

The massive collection at Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum tends to stand out amongst everything else. About 27 million pages of documents are stored here right alongside 500,000 photos and various audiotapes. While much of it covers the man's administration, you can also gain insight into his personal life.

If you're more of a visual learner, you'll be happy to see the replicas that are on display. The one that stands out the most is the full-scale replica of the Oval Office as it appeared during his administration. This even includes a replica of the Resolute desk and all its intricate detailing.

The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is highly accessible. You'll find designated handicap parking spaces out front, and every aspect of this museum can be accessed via ramps or lifts, so visitors in wheelchairs won't be missing out on anything.

Visiting this museum puts you close to quite a few other attractions you might be interested in. The surrounding parkland is tranquil, but you can find a more active park with biking trails and a skate park just a short distance to the west at Historic Fourth Ward Park.
