I've stayed here a couple times before, but this time didn't measure up to my previous stays. The safe to the room wasn't working and after requesting service, it was never fixed. My toilet wasn't flushing at first and maintenance came to fix it. It was better but still slow flushing. My tv channels did not work at all during my entire stay

Comfy Stay!
My brother and i stayed at this hotel. I had stayed at Aloft Tampa a few years ago so i had high expectations.
New Orleans Aloft was cool. 4.5 out 5. Pool table available, Bar downstairs and overall Solid choice.

It’ll be great once they fix the alarm problems.
The hotel was clean and in a great location. Staff were friendly when checking in/out and when we had questions about things to do/which direction to take.
Why two stars? That’s because on our first night at approximately 11:30pm the alarm starts blaring. It’s supposed to, I get it. We get ourselves together and start heading for the stairs. Then the alarm stops and an announcement plays that there is no emergency and to disregard the alarm. Ok, back up the stairs to the room. Now repeat this for the next 30 minutes. It was so stressful and confusing and I can’t imagine how intense it was for the families with kids that had to go through this.
There was zero communication from the front desk about this during, immediately after, or even in the morning. When I asked staff what happened, no one knew but said there were technicians on site. The second night was quiet but the alarm problems returned during the evening of day three.
I’m disappointed that there was zero communication from the hotel about this when it happened nor has there been any effort to reach out at all. An actual emergency would be different, this wasn’t.

Initially, we had a problem gaining access to the room. Upon entry, the phone was missing buttons, the TV didn't work and the toilet wouldn't flush.
We were relocated to a different room and everything was fine.

Elevator repairs needed
One of the elevators still does not work since the last time I went six months ago. And this time the center elevator stopped on floor 12. I had to call the front desk to get someone to come and bring us down the service elevator.

Morning fire alarms
Fire alarm 4 mornings out of 8...talked to desk..."Well we are connected to apartments..." Me: "Your guests dont care...13 floors walk down is never fun". Papers on door saying they stopped by but never entered to "respect your privacy" ..I was not there and no do not disturb sign was out....hmmm

The staff at the front desk and valet were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel was in a great location within walking distance of many places. The process of checking in/out was quick and efficient. The room was clean and adequate for my one night stay. The only reasons the review didn’t receive all stars was because of the elevator situation. It appeared a few were out of service and getting one down took awhile.
