Overall great place
Well-maintained, clean, with large rooms and great views. Very cozy. I really enjoyed my weekend here. Reasonably priced too! Next time I'll have to take advantage of the hot breakfast.

A great place to stay.
It’s nice to have indoor parking, especially during a blizzard. The rooms were clean. The bed was a little lumpy. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

Great Hotel at a Great Price.
This is a great place to stay in Mammoth Lakes. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The price is excellent for the accommodations and the locations is conveniently located next to the Red Line bus stop so you can jump in and head to the Village or Main Lodge. It’s a great Hotel.

I stayed here after a backpacking trip as it was close to the ESTA shuttle station going to Lone Pine. The room was fantastic and there was a comfortable and friendly vibe in the lobby. The price was good as well. Mammoth shuttle service is nearby and we were able to go wherever we wanted within town. Highly recommend.

The entire hotel looked like it was under construction. We were not notified prior to our stay that both the pool and hot tub were under construction and not accessible. The hot water was warm and the windows were not completed finished. The bed had minimal pillows and bedding with no extra blankets.

Shilo is a construction project.
Shilo Mammoth still has big and comfortable rooms. But everything else is in tatters. They apparently started a remodel over the Summer, but the contractor just left the project half-completed when it started to snow. Surprise! The pool is off limits. The steam room is freezing. The sauna is hot, but your feet freeze on the tiles inside and out, The elevators stopped working for about 24 hours. Piles of building materials are everywhere. The rates should reflect the product, which is less than you have a right to expect.

The hotel was great. It was hard to find because it is under renovation and the signage was missing.

Good hotel. Perfect for what I needed. They are renovating, but it didn’t affect the amenities or the service.

The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors cough, snore and talk… The pool and the spa were under construction and it wasn’t mentioned during the reservation process!!

renovation
This hotel is undergoing an improvement that meant no pool available, which wasn't a big deal to us. What they really need are new beds and bedding and more insulation in the walls so you can't hear your neighbor talking. Luckily, people were staying there to ski, so it was quiet by 10 pm. Noisy plumbing. Good price. Breakfast was okay--same every day. Staff working hard.

8/10 Very good

Stay was great - always my favorite to stay because of the Starbucks next door for a quick breakfast before the mountain. Hotel was great for my dogs too with well lit path outside for potty time. My only concern is that hotel’s cable was down and hot tub was closed my entire stay. Service didn’t offer any discount to make good. I’ll still stay here on future trips tho

The beds were so comfortable. Place is going thru renovations. Over all good quality and breafats fir the price and location.
Natalie, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Trash hotel.
Premium rates for a dilapidated hotel under renovation. The front door invites you into the foyer with its aluminum weather stripping halfway off the door. The pool next to the elevator is cordoned off with caution tape. The carpet into the hallways shows years of dirt and wear, the hallways are lined with buckets to catch the water dripping from plumbing in dire need of repair. Our room welcomed us with similar carpet, tattered blinds, a heating unit that didn’t work, windows lacking finish carpentry, smudges all over the walls, broken lamps repaired with epoxy glue, broken bathroom tiles on the floor and a shower regulator that was obviously kicked into the wall. If you like vacationing in squalor, this is the place for you!

The hotel is really the best budget hotel. The deco is a little outdated, but it's quiet and everything works great. Definitely better than other motels. Will stay here again in the future.
