Do not make a reservation here! I arrived at 6:00. The management office is a separate building. It was closed. I knocked and rang the doorbell, but no answer. I called the phone number and it rang inside. A guest at the hotel who walked by there said he had the same experience, but that someone had come out eventually. I heard occasional noises inside the building. Around the side a door was open. At the doorway was a traffic cone with a "no trespassing" sign on it. 3 feet inside this open door was another door which said "employees only". I yelled inside "anyone there" several times". After 30 minutes I started using my phone to find a different hotel. As a last measure, I took one step past the "no trespassing" sign to knock loudly on the "employees only" door. After a few minutes, a young man, who seemed stoned, came out of this door and yelled at me for trespassing. I left and found a different hotel.

We had a terrible time checking in. The guy at the desk (who was barely coherent) couldn’t find our reservation. Then he tried to overcharge us. He gave us a key to a room THAT WAS ALREADY OCCUPIED. My husband scared the daylights out of the poor woman who was on the other side of the door when he unlocked it. Front desk guy finally gave us a room. The room: it was adequate for a motel- small & clean. Warning: when making the resi, know there is a risk that front desk guy may or may not be able to find it- depending upon his capabilities. DO NOT PREPAY just in case. We were the 3rd party this happened to but it all ended fine (at least for us). Have low expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

Loved being so close to Sequoia Park, and truthfully we mostly used it just to rest before and after the park. I did find myself wondering why the quilts were ugly-side-out. The area around where the rooms are was a little worse for wear. But the room was clean enough, and I really, truly loved the sheets that were on the bed.

The property is dated and in need of a little upkeep. Although we arrived in the late afternoon, during standard check-in hours, the office was locked and it was challenging to figure out how to check in. Unfortunately the pool was out of order, and given the hot August weather, it would have been nice to use the pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and it was a good value considering the proximity to King's Canyon National Park.

The room was small, but well kept. The shower had an odd nozzle that was more like a pressure washer. The soap provided was a small, broken bar. I'd recommend bringing your own and shampoo/conditioner. Check in was easy, however no sign they were open, a faded white board had a phone number on it/ ring door bell was how you'd be able to get in to check in. Office reeked of cigarette smoke. The gentleman who checked us in was polite and was quick. Heard there was a pool but didn't go by since during the day we were gone.

I can’t believe this motel is in business. The property is disgusting, the walls in the room are dirty, and the man checking us in was either drunk or high. We walked away from the motel and drove to a Hampton Inn. The manager refused to refund me my money. The write-up online made the motel sound like a family run well taken care of motel. Instead it was the most disgusting place I have ever walked in to. I have traveled across the country for over 60 years and never felt so concerned for my safety.

The air conditioning didn't work. The temperature was 99 degrees in the room when we arrived, and after running the air conditioner for seven hours the temperature in the room at midnight was still 90 degrees. There were wild frogs jumping around inside the room.

The is a very quaint little travel motel that is perfect for an affordable alternative to in park lodges. The rooms are small and maybe a bit over decorated. The only complaint I have is the AC unit is high on the wall in a corner over the bed. You literally have to stand on the bed to adjust it. Who thought that was a good idea?! That said I would definately stay again just for the value.

I usually don't leave reviews but I want to warn others of this property. The place looked sketchy when we pulled up. Kids couldn't wait to swim all day since it was over 100 degrees that day. Pool was empty with a sign stating it was closed for maintenance. We stayed in the room with a kitchenette. There are no security locks on the two doors. No dead blolt or chain. One door had to be slammed shut to latch. One time I did that a piece of the exterior wall fell off. I woke to hundreds of ants crawling all over our food on the kitchen counter. That meant no breakfast. I had to throw out about $50 worth of food. The coffee pot also did not work.

Probably should be rated 1 or 2 star
Spent one night here on a larger trip. The exterior doesnt present well but the room was clean. It was very small. Quiet, comfortable bed. Fine if you manage your expectations. It is a roadside motel afterall. Probably should be rated a 1 or 2 star.

Considering it said under expedia it was a 3 1/2 star, it did not meet that requirement at all. The property grounds not kept up, pool not able to use, shower curtain with holes in it so watwr leaking out.

We arrived at the motel at 8:30 (check in ends at 9). I rang the bell several times, but nobody came. My wife noticed snoring coming from the back room. I hollered loudly to try to wake them up, to no avail. We couldn't call because there was no cell service. We went outside to their Ring doorbell thinking that that might work. Nope. by this time, it was 8:45 or so (I had also noticed that there were no keys hanging up, so I assumed they had already rented out our room to someone else. We left and went to the nearby gas station, where I was informed that the man who ran it at night was a drunk and was unreliable. The person told us of a place up the road who had a motel, so we flew down the road hoping for a last second room. We got to Gena's Sierra Inn at 8:58, and as we were paying for our room, she turned her Open sign off. They saved us from having to sleep in our car. The next day, we had to leave out early so we didn't have time to go back to try to get a refund. VERY disappointed, to say the least. They basically stole my money. I can't review it, because we couldn't stay there. Very shady.

Squaw Valley peaceful stay
The place is quiet. I love that the place is only 30 mins away from Kings Canyon. There is also a Dollar General store across so you can always drive back and forth for some necessities. Pet friendly, with very minimal fee. Bed was comfy, room was well kept with quaint designs, makes you feel at home. It will be nice to have more coffee selections, the coffee had in our room was blah. Overall it was an awesome stay!

In small towns you get what is available. This motel served the purpose of sleeping and showering. The room is not very big. The bed was comfortable and the room appeared updated. I would highly recommend they put a folding chair in the back corner next to the table so there is some place to sit down. Not everyone can sit on beds to put on shoes or boots. Since we had a few hours to kill, we sat outside for a bit, until the sun was going down. Man at front desk was interesting and didn't seem to like to be bothered. We had issues with our toilet which my husband sought help with and ended up fixing himself with tools borrowed from the staff.

The high on the day we check in was about 100 degrees, and no air conditioning had been turned on in our room. When we arrived, we just had to turn on the small air conditioner and leave for awhile to let it cool the room off. It was stifling. However, when we returned in about an hour, the room was cooler and it was clean, although very small. It is fairly close to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. The outside of the motel could use some refurbishing, but it was clean and gave us a place to rest.
