4/10 Fair

Check in was about 1 mile away from rooms. Limited underground parking because of ownership parking slots. Very few rental spots. The airconditioning was so loud we only used it when it was too hot not to. Could not use it at night and just opened windows. Had to use a fan in the other room, airconditioning not working well enough. Very small rooms.

Keep the outside out
We had a wonderful weekend in Northstar. The condo was clean and well equipped however we had a little mouse visiting us one evening in the kitchen. We had no food out so it nibbled on my sons foot. I suggest you locate some traps around the building.

Stay was just ok
The condo was ok. We didn’t find out there was no AC until after I paid my non-refundable payment. If you seen my going to have AC, you need to have enough good fans to make it comfortable for your guests. The living area has a very small fan and with temps hitting high 80s, it was too warm inside. It wasn’t comfortable sleeping with no air. Carpets in the unit we stayed in need to be cleaned. There’s an odor when you walk in and carpets have several stains.

2/10 Poor

Buyer Beware!!
The name "Northstar California Resort" is very deceiving. This is not a hotel or a resort, but a VRBO!! We are a "lodging company" as the conceirge told me when I got there and started to push for more answers. This means you will not get a complimentary breakfast nor housekeeping services during your stay. There is also a charge for everything else. Parking? $15/day. Pool/hot tub/fitness center? $8/person/day. Skating rental? $17/person. And, what really pushed me over the edge was the long list of things I was responsible for when checking out! Strip the sheets off the bed?!! Yep, just one of your responsibilities. The resort atmosphere was nice (i.e. skating rink, firepits, restaurants), but the ski resort/lodge is getting run down (i.e. the elevator made scary sounds and had signs posted to operate very carefully or it would shut down), and I really felt a bit scammed to find out this wasn't a hotel or resort at all but someone's vacation rental. Another lady I ran into said her daughters referenced it as "a dump" and while I wouldn't take it that far, at least I know I wasn't alone in my sentiments. If you are aware and okay with this being a VRBO, you might like it, but otherwise, I would choose an actual hotel instead.

Convenient location and check in process. The place was very outdated. Blew a circuit simply by running a small fan we found in the unit.
