We got a panoramic strip view suite and the room was ancient. Half the furniture and fixtures were falling apart. The shower flooded and half the tiles were falling off. Cigarette burns on the carpet. The curtains were falling off the railings.

U get what you pay for,pay more to be comfortable
Upon driving onto the property, the signage is small and hard to follow. The overall experience inside was unpleasant. It smelled of sour humans and stale cigarettes. The elevators, escalators and stairs are poorly labeled. The rooms are extremely outdated and in disrepair. Carpet pealing at the edges, the ceiling/walls had a few holes and tape from old decorations. The plumbing was loud, the toilet handle in the tank was loose, the sink drains were badly connected with the other rooms and it bubbled and knocked.

Definitely needs updating. A lot of stores inside were out of business and one of the restaurants as well. No microwave in the room, loud old refrigerator. Strange window where you can lay in bed and see into the shower. Not sound proof as we kept hearing the neighbors kids screaming and running around late into the night.

I only stayed for one night (Saturday-Sunday) but was great! The room was very clean, very huge room (and wasn’t eve a suite) I was in a high flor and the view was amazing (city view), the shower/water excellent and I loved the space next to bathroom.. there a closet with big mirror and a huge mirror with lights in the front of the closet (you can see in the pictures above, it was the only picture I had to token from insert because I forgot to take it). It’s very quite and I know a lot of people says the elevator is terrible, I had to use a few times and I never had problem with it. The people from the front desk was excellent too, very helpful and friendly. I definitely would stay there again.

Biggest letdown of our trip
We checked in on Monday and found there were no washcloths in the room. After requesting this from several folks like the front desk, a housekeeping person and numerous attempts to call housekeeping, we still could not get a washcloth and by now it was Wednesday. We finally asked for the Hotel Manager who assured us he would be taking care of this and finally, Thursday, the night before checkout, we had towels and washcloths. For the rest of this review, we were told that housekeeping only comes by the rooms when they can get to it. Speaking with several employees we found that the entire housekeeping staff is down to maybe 8 workers. They only came one time on Thursday to make the beds and remove some trash. I was once a Rio employee for 10 years and I was proud of the Rio and took all friends and family there. It is now nothing but a shell with most stores closed and no buffet like many Casinos now. Our room was large and the view was great, but with no housekeeping, no microwave and no coffee pot, I think we would have done better in a cheap sleezy hotel 6. No way would I recommend this hotel (I use the term lightly) to anyone. What a dump and letdown.
