I love the La Jolla Shores. It is old and has not really changed much, which I like. We had a room with a balcony but in winter it never got sun and it was cold. Next time I'll ask to be higher up, which might help. We didn't eat in the restaurant. The room taxes in California are very high. But I will always go back to the Shores.

I dont understand how anyone can grade this hotel as anything other than a 9 or 10. My wife and I loved our oceanfront room view and sounds of the ocean. The room was clean, and despite what others have said in reviews, we didnt find it outdated at all. Shuttle service was a big part of our enjoyment allowing us the ability to explore the area. It was easy to access and drivers very friendly. So much to do in the immediate area or just a couple of miles away. When we return to the west coast, we will stay at LaJolla Shores Hotel!
