The Whitehall Houston
"Room was clean and awesome bar experience"
Magnolia Hotel Houston, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel
"Ok, check-in was a nightmare. I’m not blaming the receptionists but the process could have gone a little smoother. We were told our room was not ready at the 4:00 check-in time. We arrived shortly before 5:00 pm. We did not get into our room until 7:30. Two free drink tickets were received for our troubles. The drinks were gone by 6:00. An hour and a half later we were called and told our room was ready. It was not the room I reserved. After straightening things out at reception we finally get to our room. The rest of the stay was pleasant. If you ask to use the free shuttle that will only drive you within one mile of the hotel without cost, they acted very inconvenienced. No worries, we still used the shuttle and still tipped well. As for the breakfast, over $30 a plate for a pretty common but slightly upscale hotel continental breakfast. I will say the coffee was good, but the breakfast was 7 out of 10. If we stayed another night we’d have found another spot in downtown to eat. Overall, I think I would give another hotel in the downtown area a chance before booking here again. But if it were my last option, I guess I’d take it."

Blossom Hotel Houston, Curio Collection by Hilton
"I had a wonderful one-night stay at the Blossom Hotel Houston! The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with clean, stylish, and aesthetically pleasing rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the amenities really stand out—the rooftop pool and bar are gorgeous and offer fantastic views. I have zero complaints about my time here. Even for a short trip, the overall experience was top-tier, and I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Houston!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Houston

You can explore a variety of attractions, including theatres, sports events, live music, and vibrant festivals, all while enjoying the impressive skyline and engaging shopping experiences. With some planning, your visit could offer great value for money, especially during these months when prices may drop.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover enticing hotel deals for your trip to Houston, explore the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, activating email alerts or push notifications will keep you informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. With these resources, you’ll be well-equipped to plan a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a better deal on your stay in a Houston hotel. If you’re seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more affordable option.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Houston's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-linked. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
