The staff were very helpful, and the room was quiet despite being on the ground floor and near a common area. We would stay here again if we go back to Monteverde. (Wife and son are already asking when we can go back to Costa Rica!)

Cute and comfy
The bed was super comfy and the AC worked well. We had a large room with a shared balcony. The location is close to town with shops and restaurants, but it’s uphill from town, so the return walk got old pretty quickly.

El hotel esta ubicada en Santa Elena. Por ende las noches son muy ruidosas por el tráfico constante de motociclistas de la zona. Lo cual si desean un hotel de descanso este hotel no sería una opción. Ese fue el único punto negativo durante nuestra estadía. Lo cual es un factor fuera de control de este alojamiento. Las habitaciones son muy confortables con baños amplios y limpios. El desayuno incluido es delicioso y variado.

Price was good and breakfast was great. Nice view from the second-floor room. Had to keep windows open to cool the room and that brought bugs in at night. Also meant that you could hear people in nearby rooms. Wifi signal was too weak to reach our room.

We enjoyed staying at the Mar Inn. Christine at the front desk showed us the map of the city and guided us to a couple of very good restaurants. Breakfast was very good as well. Close to the cloud forest and a Sloth sanctuary. Tip, park at the parking lot that says Offical Parking & take the shuttle, there is really no parking at the park entrance.

We loved the location close into town. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable and we loved being able to sit outside our room on our balcony. The breakfast was great! This was a wonderful, affordable option for staying in Santa Elena. It is easily accessible to the beautiful hanging bridges and all of the other beauty in the area.

Very nice, cute simple accommodation! Little older but thw location is great, not in the heart of Santa Elena but a walking distant away from the crowded area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They have an organized schedule to all the acitvities around and multiple times for shuttles to different activities.

This would be my first choice.
This was my second stay in Santa Elena. I chose this hotel due to its location (off the main street), and I was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for quiet, and Mar Inn allowed me to rest after hiking in the jungle. The included breakfast was substantial, and the service excellent. There is a coffee and spirits bar on-site. The host was very helpful, and one minor issue with our refrigerator was promptly remedied.

The beds are very cozy and comfortable with nice blankets. The shower is a nice rainfall shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. But, the water was not very hot. It is located in a great area 5 minutes walk from downtown. The parking lot is pretty small. Breakfast is 6:30-8:30am made to order. The pancakes are fluffy and they have tea/milk/coffee.
