I Will Tell you something about our trip.... It was only one night stay, when we checked-in it was told to us that our room what we ordered is booked so we will get another room, so we got keys from the room and after long trip we opened the door and there was person who sleeped in the room. So we told that fact to receptionist and se said that we want our money back, that we will take another hotel. She said its not possible And gave to us another room, the room was Okay fór one night but little bit messy. There Is a lot of loud persons in the streets at night so be ready for it. Never again, if you are planning first stay here.....pay more to get better hostel.

I regret staying here.
My expectations were low (it's a hostel) and even then they managed to disappoint me. Room was not ready even though I checked in after posted start time. Very poorly upkept - it's dirty, smelly, extremely noisy - paper-thin walls. Very hard to sleep with people making noise at all hours of the night. Also, the sleeping area main door slams loudly if you don't remember to hold it, and every room door was so poorly adjusted you have to slam it to close it. It's a hostel with people coming in and out all the time, there's no excuse for that shoddy maintenance. Room was old and dirty, and my sheets had stains on them. Only good thing was the central location. Front desk person was nice but that didn't rescue the stay. Bad bang for the buck, would not stay again even if free. Utrecht is a wonderful city though and definitely worth visiting.

Please note: pet cat at the hostel
The hostel has a CAT. Upon arrival on a very steep stairs you can already smell cat pee. Also my room smelt of cat pee. I happen to be allergic to cat hairs. Due to cancellation policy there is no possibility to cancel once you have found out. I also found cat hairs in my room. Guests were up until the wee hours. If you are a party animal and seek company, this is your place to be. If you seek some night rest, don't go here.

Very bad
Stayed a couple of nights. Booked beforehand for fixed all inclusive price, confirmed by email. At check in this was completely ignored and price was raised. After checkout no response to my mail or phone calls about this. Lack of basic supplies like bread etc for breakfast on all days. Also 2 cats jumping everywhere in kitchen, fridge included, and breakfastroom while i was eating. Both room and bathroom were dirty.

Mixed feelings
Got mixed feelings about this hostel. Some receptionists are super cool, the unfriendly one (said "the reception is closed" instead of hello to me when I first got there)... Do not take the breakfast option, it is way overpriced (5.50€), go to a café or supermarket around. I paid for it on my first night and regret for 2 reasons. - The breakfast served has nothing in common with the picture you see at reception, and doesn't include a drink (no tea or coffee). - 2 cats live in the hostel. I love cats but when I saw them jumping in the kitchen I realized it was seriously a bad idea having free cats in a hotel... Also even though the lounge looks nice, it smells like wet dog which is seriously repulsive while eating the breakfast. Apart from that is was comfortable, everything worked well in the room and for a good price! Definitely inside the room I was feeling okay and could rest.

I do understand that this is a budget option, so my comments are not about the facilities themselves, but their upkeep. The (shared) bathroom on the second floor was out of order, meaning that the only toilet was on the first floor. For the duration of our stay there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the toilet. There was also no working faucet in the men’s toilet. There were bags/piles of laundry in the hallways and the entryway looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

This hotel/hostel is more hostel than hotel. The reception staff are VERY courteous and helpful. Location is very good - 20 min walk to Centraal Station, 15 min walk to the beginning of the city centre and shopping. Grocery stores 2-3 min away. Close to many eateries. Hotel is need of updates and cleaning. Single room with en-suite was small but comfortable with metal bunk bed.

Nice place but be warned about the steep stairs
Nice place, clean room and friendly staff but stairs are steep and unfortunately there was a leak coming from the room upstairs, so woke up to a damp bed.

Decent hostel
Private rooms and bathrooms could do with an upgrade. Sound carries quite well throughout the hostel so it's not always quiet. Walking distance to town and plenty of dining nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall ok value for money.

Well-located, but a bit tired.
A friend and I shared a private room. It was a decent-sized room, with private bathroom (and access to the shared shower/toilet had we both needed the facilities at the same time). Very easy to get to from the station by bus, lots of places to eat nearby, a supermarket nearby (Jumbo), and (if it's not a heatwave!) within walking distance of everywhere in the town centre. The hostel kitchen is well-equipped. Facilities are generally solid but a bit tired. Our room was in the roof, and really could have done with more opening windows and/or a fan as it was boiling, even on the relatively cool days. The hostel is on the first and second floors above a restaurant. There is no lift at the hostel, and the staircases have very narrow steps, and turns (in common with most Dutch properties I believe to be fair)! We visited after a camping trip, so had a lot of kit with us, and getting up/down the stairs with our stuff was scary! I wouldn't advise staying here if you know you'll have large bags with you.

One night stay in Utrecht
When we arrived ex at the hotel l thought that it looked quite shabby but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and we had an ensuite bathroom. There were several restaurants close by and it wasn't too far into the centre of Utrecht. Breakfast was quite adequate. They also provided us with safe storage for our bicycles in a garage.

Too expensive for what it is. Bad experience.
I am usually not very worried about hostels I stay in, especially if it just for a short stay. However I have to say this place is more like a terrible student house. It is old and not very clean. The room was small and not very comfortable. Plus, the guests in my floor were loud and kept slamming doors until 2am in the morning. In summary, not worth the 60 euros per night!

Great location and works to spend the night
The hostel is simple. I stayed in a private room, the bathroom is shared but no problem with that because it was always clean. If you are not an exigent person and just want a place to spend the night, this place works for you.

Nice experience
Everything is nice, have shared kitchen to cook, staff is nice, sufficient equipment and cooking tools Two points should be considered, one is location, not in the town centre, but can be accessed by bus Another is the narrow stairs, better for backpackers, but staff is nice to help for bringing a big luggage.

Small room, but very convenient location
This was a very inexpensive hotel with a very small room, and including a shower. The bed was fine, but filled most of the room. The staff were great and very helpful. And when I needed to leave early, they gave me a complete refund for the days not used. This is probably a 2 star hotel, but the facilities, including the internet, were great.
