When it comes to the room and breakfast, everything was on point , nothing to complain. However, all this wonderful impression was ruined by the fact that before checking out, I was confronted with the fact that I didn’t pay for the rest of my stay. The money was locked from my account, but then I saw that it was only authorised, not actually debited. Contrary to what the hotel staff said, which didn’t even know when I arrived that they already debited a quarter of the amount for my stay, they allegedly said that I was informed that this is only a ‘reservation’ of the amount. No, I was only informed about the security deposit (which funny enough, that was actually debited, not reserved).
Now you’re probably asking, what is the problem? The problem is that the hotel reserved a large amount of money from my card and held onto it for for 1 week and then it got expired and of course the money did not return to my account in time for checkout, therefore I refused to pay, and will avoid this hotel onwards because I have not seen a hotel with this shady of a payment system, they do not give you any sort of warranty that the money will be wired back to your account, and the expiry timeframe is based on an assumption of how much a guest stays at the hotel, even though they know exactly how much a guest stays at their place… absolutely bonkers, please be careful what information you are given by the people at the reception, ask for the money to be debited straight at your arrival
