Hotel needs updating; Staff needs training
The hotel needs interior updating due to dated furnishings that have been well-worn. This is not what I expect from a "luxury" hotel. In our ocean front suite, we had scratched and chipped furniture, scratched floors, disintegrating iron balconies, which was disconcerting considering we have a 3 year old. The pool is small and a sad color of purple-ish blue... The restaurants were not stellar with limited options for children. The valets left our rental car out front all day inexplicably and another guest hit it. The staff barely helped us (the other guest didn't speak English) and they tried to downplay the incident. We said we wanted to leave the hotel and they said "sure" and didn't try to encourage us to stay. It was really bad service and shocking. We switched to the Aulani and our child had an absolute blast as did we, and we felt very taken care of by the staff there.
