Nothing not to like!
Our two night stay at the hotel was excellent. The staff, especially Steph on reception went over and above to make sure we had everything we wanted. Everyone we encountered was polite, helpful and a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was superb and kept very well stocked, the bar food was also great. Bedroom clean, had everything we needed and comfortable. We will be back

Carpet was not hoovered prior to our arrival. We stood on small items that previous patrons had dropped. Heating wasn't working in the room, it was very cold. Took over an hour for them to locate a heater for the room; we had to visit reception 3 times to resolve this. There was only 1 robe provided in the room for the spa and by this point, I just did not want another trip to reception to ask for anything more. Restaurant seating by the window for evening meals and that was also very cold. My chicken burger was pink but they seemed short staffed so I didn’t bother saying anything. Vegetable soup and Fish & Chips were nice. Breakfast staff were lovely and this food was much better. Good choices. In general, the hotel comes across as trying to look high end but isn't actually maintaining the property well enough. In summary. Overpriced. Breakfast great. Hotel room not the cleanest. Service too slow.

Very comfortable bed but it was hard to sit up as the lit headboard creaked a lot and didn’t feel v sturdy. Photos show a coffee machine but that’s only in upgraded rooms. Room was v spacious. Lovely hotel, they upgraded my room and it was really clean and comfy - no issues there. However they charged me for parking but there were no spaces. And the entry from the car park with luggage is a bit of a pain. They also didn't actually check me in when I checked in, which caused issues when I got back that evening. All sorted out and they gave me a free drink, but it was still not the smoothest experience

The foyer and restaurant looked spotless. The staff that booked us in was friendly, although lacking information about the hotels facilities. The room was lovely, appeared newly decorated. The windows were old and let in some cold, but the heating was on all the time so didn't notice unless near the window. The heating was noisy and the bathroom although clear had mould on the grout. Of note also is there was no hot Wtaer by the time we showered about 11am. The swimming pool, etc were lovely, a little small but it was quiet. The changing areas weren't good at all though, cold, dirty, old and broken locker doors.

Room was dirty and floor covered in blood spots, pillows covered with blood marks. F&B manager Dean confirmed and was horrified, gave me a drinks voucher and changed my room. No one picked up phone at reception so had to go down 3 times as room was so bad
