Great, but Aircon broke
Service and room was great. But room was hot (and this is in winter) air con was locked, so you couldn't lower the temperature, which was annoying. Other than that a nice stay

A great find and I will definitely stay again
The hotel was ideally located with plenty of nearby (payable) parking. The bar/restaurant was well laid out and the couple of times I walked through seemed to be buzzing. The room was perfect, decorated tastefully and had everything you would need. The inclusive breakfast was excellent with both a continental buffet and a full menu to chose from though you can have both...

Too much noise
Everything was wonderful EXCEPT the noise all night long from the bar across the street. My room #2 was at the front of the hotel. The noise finally stopped at 2am. There were earplugs in the night stand, so I guess this is a common problem for guests.

Great pub hotel.
We booked 3 rooms for one night prior to a cruise. The hotel is comfortable, friendly staff. Nice toiletries. Lovely tea and coffee in the room. We had a pleasant evening meal. (There was a 10% discount as hotel guests) The rooms do face the street and a busy junction with several bars and restaurants nearby means there is noise and music outside. (Earplugs found in bedside table were a good bonus!)
We would be happy to stay again. Thank you Bridget and Team.

Our stay was perfect
Everything was very clean and all of the staff were friendly. Young man carried luggage up the 4 flights of stairs. We ate in the restaurant 3 times and all of the food was delicious.

All staff, especially young man at desk, were accommodating, very helpful and extremely welcoming. Supper was delicious and beautifully plated. Hot and cold buffet in am was plentiful and tasty.
Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place to stay
Lovely place to stay before our cruise, would stay again. But noisy at the front according to our friends so ask for a room at the back. Great facilities in the room, the local area was buzzing.

The greatest part of this hotel besides the amazing staff ( Jake, Zach and Bridget ) was the history of the property, not realizing the name of the property White Star Tavern was associated to the Titanic, Every were in the hotel where pictures and historical facts of the Titanic and the White Star shipping company. The rooms were cosy and quiet even though it’s above a tavern you never heard noise.
There’s no lift but it’s like walking up the stairs at home and you leave your luggage downstairs locked in a room and take an overnight bag to your room. We loved the charm and character of the hotel and restaurant. Easy walk to the cruise terminal or a 5 minute cab ride
