Great service at reasonable price!
Great service, excellent homemade breakfast. The place is clean; bathroom needs some updating though. I did not realized when I booked that it is approximately 40 min from Stowe Mountain resort, a bit far after a full say pf skiing.

Cheap and Charming
We booked this property because we wanted the charm of a bed and breakfast, but with a seperate room for our teen boys. Room #1 - the family suite was just the ticket and I was surprised by how affordable this property was compared to others in the area. We loved the convenient location to both Smuggs and Jay Peak for skiing, and the cooked to order breafast each day was awesome. We also made use of the living room space nightly to play games and sit by the fireplace. That being said, you should not expect much when it comes to the condition of the inn, its an old place - the floors are crooked and creaky and although some spaces have been kind of updated over time, everything is banged up. Walls have cracks and holes and ceilings are flaking. The bar in the pics is no longer in use nor is the hottub mentioned in the description. Although dissapointed in some things, we still feel the spacious room, comfortable beds, and excellent breakfast would be worth returning to! We had a terrific time.

A historical hotel with not ideal services
The bathroom hinge makes noice every time when it moved. All rooms are on the 2nd floor. Breakfast services are amazing except you need to pre-order.

Neat, quirky little inn
This is a very neat little inn, with the original downstairs house portion dating back to the 1790s and the inn dating back to the 1890s. At the very bottom level is a lively tavern. The room was comfortable if small, which is to be expected at a place like this. Wonderful breakfast in the morning and a very friendly staff.

Old and full of personality
Smugglers Notch Inn is so cool. It’s an old building with so much charm, but built before ADA (keep this in mind if you struggle with stairs). The staff were very nice. The room was clean and full of personality. Again, it’s an old building that come with creaking floors and tights turns, but that’s what made it so fun for us. The pub downstairs was convenient and menu was great.

An old country Inn.
An old, old fashioned country inn. The floor of our room was so slanted that a glass of water almost slid off the night table. It was almost scary. We would have liked a short extension to our checkout time to deal with a telco, but did not find anyone at the reception nor did they answer the phone. So we just left.

I don't want to sound critical because everything was good. The room was fine. The on-site tavern where we had dinner was fine. The breakfast (included) was very good. That said, the whole place wasn't what I expected from the description and pictures. The building was built in the early 1800s and has been added to and remodeled several times through the years. The place was a warren of hallways and doors. The floors were not level. The walls were thin so you heard everything. If you are into quaint New England Inns, this is your place. If not, well...

The property is very old. Floors throughout are uneven due to warping. Bathroom was updated. Breakfast dining area run down with warping floors and the booth we sat in was slanted. The food was delicious. We expected a more updated property for the price we paid.
