Meh
TV didn’t work. Cords like spaghetti on wall. AC/Heater unit loud. One window does not open. Room smells musty. Other than that, fine.

Adequate but parking concerns
Not a place to stay if you need parking— their lot is across the PCH and there were no spots available. The hotel is a bit worn down but well located and the staff was perfectly nice. It’s an adequate place to stay if you don’t require parking and aren’t expecting anything too luxurious. Small things like burn out lights in the bathroom and the shower pressure were tolerable but annoying.

Lobby very nice, staff nice, rooftop bar cafe wonderful, room windows no screens and slider one would not stay open, toilet 😱12" off floor🤔so low plus allowed male parts dipped into water and no grab bar to get up if you have a back problem😥😥bed was comfy, room was more spacious than expected, but very different in arrangements🙄everything worked, large TV. Room "surf" for young small travelers.

Property is extremely dated. Room, for the price is very sterile. No updates have been done for many years, which is quite evident. My room was right on the side road of the hotel with a door to hotel access was propped open all day and all night. Did not feel very safe. Hotel is in a great area. Very walkable. Rooftop Lounge is very nice. When I got there to check in no one was at the counter. Had to wait 10-15 minutes. The gentlemen who did appear to help was very nice. Parking is atrocious. The hotel does have it's own lot but cars were packed in there and it was extremely hard to. park for fear of hitting another guests car. Would not recommend the hotel. There are plenty of others within walking distance in Laguna Beach.

2/10 Poor

Not Next Year
Requested in advance and again closer to check-in quiet room away from highway. Were given room in wing adjacent to highway, loud music from lobby until 10:30 p.m. Desk clerk could not have cared less. No maid service less than 3 nights, no recycling in room, t.v. set to Apple (log in needed although they fixed it), dead bolt didn't work, limited outlets, drawers sticky and hard to open and close, sink faucet dripped. Small, dark room - couldn't see in wardrobe area, no a/c, only stand-alone cooling unit that was NOISY. Added charges to bill that weren't on final total from hotels.com. There is no assistance with bags. Phelton was especially nice and accommodating, as were most of the staff. The rooftop has a nice view, but was very crowded. Menu was changed since we inquired, which was inconvenient and disappointing. OK if you want something simple with limited amenities. Stayed there last year; this year was not a good experience for us.

Great staff and property. Especially like that the downstairs bar is open now. Thanks for a wonderful time with friends choosing your property as our middle ground to meet from SD, the OC, and the IE.

Property is cute and quaint, you can tell it's historic. It's in a great location, front desk staff were helpful. Room was tiny but comfortable. Probably wouldn't stay again but still enjoyed the stay.
