"The Motto by Hilton is an excellent affordable option for a business hotel in downtown DC. Hotel rooms in DC can be outrageously expensive - and this is not the case at the Motto. That said, Motto describes itself as a micro-hotel. The rooms are small (sized more like London hotel rooms) and the in-room amenities (like a refrigerator) are sometimes missing. The Motto is very well maintained, everything works, the staff is very helpful, bed was comfortable, internet is free. Other than the small rooms, there is everything to recommend the Motto. There are two restaurants/bars on site - on the first floor and top floor (with outdoor veranda). I did not try either but looking at menus and the number of people at either, they seem to be good options. The Motto is conveniently located across the street from the Gallery Place Metro Station, there is a convenience store/pharmacy a few doors away and a huge number of restaurants/fast food within walking distance. A possible downside is lack of running/jogging opportunities, as running on the streets is painful but this would be true for any downtown DC hotel. The best option is to head south to the National Mall which is 0.7 miles away."
"I wasn't crazy about the $50 per night on site parking fee but it was better than the alternative. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the best I have slept on. If you have any back issues this is the place to stay. 5 out of 5 for me. Staff was excellent. I'd stay here again!"
