4/10 Fair

Spartan, ridiculously unfurnished.
The room was clean, I will give it that, but it was not a practical, functional place to stay. This was one of if not the most expensive room offered at this motel. It was advertised as having such amenities as a full kitchenette, bathroom, king size bed. It indeed has those things. What they didn't mention is that they deleted ALL normal basics that even the most simple and inexpensive of budget motels would have. There are no bedside end tables or night stands of any kind. There are no lamps or any form of lighting in the room at all except for a central overhead fluorescent light that is both dim and harsh at the same time. There is no light that can be accessed from the bed. There is no desk or bureau or other counterspace or other place to set anything down except a hard bare floor. There was not a single chair in the room. The ONLY furniture in the room was a bed, and a pair of tiny round stools with a matching little round table that literally looked like they came out of a child's play house. The top of this table was about the size of a pizza. The "remodeled bathrooms" are great....as long as you don't have to use them. The toilet was shoe-horned into a corner between the wall and tub/shower such that anyone but a small child could not sit on it unless they were sitting sideways. There is no counter or any place to set toiletries/toothbrush, shaving stuff etc other than the floor. The lack of basic furniture makes the kitchenette useless. Bathroom almost unusable.
