Great spot and friendly staff
We loved this place. The front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful, they also have multiple staff members who know different languages. The public bath was great and the location was perfect.

Highly recommended for a Kyoto stay
Amazing hotel in Kyoto. Just a short walk from Kyoto Station, an incredible temple across the street, public onsen onsite, and spacious room for Japan's standards. They securely held our bags until check-in time. We were close to bus and train stops that were convenient for getting to Fushimi Inari and Nara and lots of food nearby. Friendly service and comfortable room.

The staff at Hotel Kuu were wonderful when we had an unexpected snafu in our transportation from Tokyo to Kyoto. They were very helpful in other ways as well.
I do wish the beds and pillows weren’t so hard and uncomfortable but I found this to be the norm in all the hotels we stayed at in Japan. Loved the bidet toilets but not the 1-ply toilet paper. The spa baths were a luxurious bonus!

This is the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed at! The staff are impeccably polite and so helpful. The view from this hotel can not be beat. It is so peaceful and the onsen are absolutely top notch! When I booked this hotel I was excited , but when we actually checked in I was blown away by the contemporary traditional atmosphere as a whole. Their breakfast is also healthy and delicious with too many different options to list. Be assured that our next visit to Kyoto will definitely include a stay at Hotel Kuu!!
Thank you so much!

This is a sweet hotel, with a lovely Onsen downstairs. The location is very walkable with lots of restaurants, shops, convenience stores and easy transit access in the area. Although the hotel is on a main road, it’s relatively quiet at night. Staff were friendly. No complaints at all.

Loved the hotel, it offers a delightful blend of modern comfort and traditional Japanese elements, conveniently located near Kyoto Station, near pharmacies, konbinis, shopping and restaurants. The hotel's standout feature is its in-house onsen, featuring two baths that alternate daily between genders, providing a peaceful retreat after sightseeing. I enjoyed their buffet breakfast, and it caters to both Western and Japanese tastes. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were so helpful and kind. Breakfast is excellent. Location is right in front of a beautiful temple, and only 7 minutes away from Kyoto station. It was an excellent introduction to Japan.
