The bed was rock solid, window closed but didn’t lock so was able to be opened from the outside plus only way of opening the curtains was by opening the window, bathroom had a pungent smell to it and very small a positive was the location.

Worse Hotel Ive Ever Stayed In

Worse hotel I've ever stayed in, no wardrobe/cupboard in the room so be prepared to live out your bag/suitcase, no fridge, TV couldn't get a signal and paid almost 100 quid a day for the privilege. Amsterdam generally has the wost value for money hotels along with London, but this place was shocking!

Overall a good place to stay

Avoid room with no view

We stayed in a room which was described as with no view. It looked bright on the pics so I thought it had a window that was maybe looking at a wall or a bin yard. But it actually had no window. So I felt very vulnerable in case of fire as I only had 1 exit. The lights were very dim also so it felt even worse. We had one big and 1 small towel for 2 of us. The floor was lifting from where it had been left repeatedly wet and there was a putrid smell. It was less so in the bathroom so it wasn’t from the drains, we couldn’t figure out what it was. The stairs are very steep but I think it’s like that all over Amsterdam. I’m not saying don’t book this place but I’d recommend a different room. The lady on the reception a few doors down was nice.

The property is very dated and very basic , it was clean and room cleaned daily, shame there was no fridge or kettle , but very close to all attractions all in walking distance, but nice and quiet 👌

No elevator, narrow and long stairs, the place was not clean, I booked the place because it was affordable but not worth it. Go spend a little more money and stay at an average hotel but not here…

I wish the state of the stars were included somewhere in the booking. me and my spouse are young and fit and it was difficult for us to get to our room. Also the reception/ check in was confusing. but besides that it was a great place to stay and location.

Room was fairly worn out. Given how few amenities are in the room it should be easy with minimal effort to make the room more presentable, coat of paint freshen up the fixtures. Bed was reasonably comfortable and linen/towels were clean.

A challenging experience

Review: My stay here was a bit challenging, so I’d suggest keeping expectations realistic if you decide to book. The room itself wasn’t terrible, but several details made the overall experience less comfortable. 1. Stairs: As is common in Dutch houses, the stairs are very steep. Carrying luggage up can be difficult. 2. Entrance: The main entrance could use more attention and care, as it didn’t feel very clean or welcoming. 3. Reception: There isn’t a dedicated reception inside the building. Check-in requires going to another building and navigating more steep stairs. 4. Room size: The room was extremely small, with little space to move around and only one power outlet available. 5. Bathroom: The motion-sensor light switched off too quickly, which was inconvenient. 6. Common areas: They weren’t dirty, but there was a noticeable odor that wasn’t very pleasant. 7. Facilities: The vending machine on site was old and out of service. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful, though there was only so much they could do given the limitations of the property. In summary, this place might work if you’re traveling on a tight budget or only need a short stay, but don’t expect a particularly comfortable or welcoming environment.

Not going back

The rooms were very dirty. We were actually "upgraded" to a small room with balcony. We stayed for two nights, the first day there was 37 degrees in amsterdam, and the room had no form for airconditioner og cooler. We had to have the balcony door open at night. The bathroom is really small and with no light besides from in the shower. The staircase to the room was very steep, i dont think you could get a suitcase up there. The location of the hotel was very convenient, so if thats all you need this is the hotel. Noisy at night and from 6 o clock cause of road work.

Not for solo travelers

This hotel is off the streets through a very narrow set of steep and long staircases. Overall look is very dark and sketchy. I’m not completely sure if this is normal in the area, but definitely wouldn’t recommend to solo travelers. There was a chewed gum stuck on the bed. I had to leave after seeing that. They never called me back or tried to contact me in any way.

This property is ideally located and walking distance to everything Amsterdam-central. Would happily stay here again, the hotel was great value for the location and the staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful.

Dear La Belle Vue Hotel Management, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent stay at La Belle Vue Hotel, Amsterdam, on September 20, 2025. After a long 6-hour bus ride from Paris, we checked into our reserved room, only to be met with a very strong and unbearable odor. When I called the reception for assistance, I was told there were no alternative rooms available and that the cleaning staff had already left. No solution was provided. In addition to this, the toilets were in unacceptable condition. There were dried feces under the toilet seat, which made it extremely unhygienic. Despite this, I had no option but to stay for one night. Although my reservation was for three nights, I was only able to stay for one night due to these conditions and was forced to search for another hotel. On top of that, I had to carry five 25-kg suitcases all by myself, which added further stress to the situation. This experience was far below any acceptable standard of hospitality. I kindly request a refund for the two unused nights of my reservation. I can also provide photos of the cleaning products I had to purchase as evidence. I hope you will handle this matter urgently and fairly. Please let me know how the refund process will proceed. Sincerely, Kemal Alp Ermiş
