The bedroom was very spacious with a lovely comfortable seating area for watching t.v. plus a standard reading lamp. Bedding and bed were both excellent and the hotel provided 3 pillows each (this is rare). There were many thoughtful touches in the room and bathroom such as shaving mirror, room for toiletries to be stored, plenty of hooks for bathrobes etc and good clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Plenty of storage space too. We also liked the opportunity to sit outside the room for a sundowner. We had an upstairs garden room, but there were ground floor rooms available as well for the less mobile. The garden rooms face into the back of the hotel and some of the front rooms might have traffic noise from the nearby main road. The food in the restaurant was very good, if a little pricy. Our only complaint was that the meat was served with a mere tablespoon of vegetables, more for decoration than anything and it was insufficient to accompany excellent lamb. The fantastic beef steak was served with a stick of polenta the size of a fish finger and half an asparagus. The dessert and cheeseboard were excellent. Wine list very expensive. Service was good. Overall, we would return. The hotel is a little tricky to get to, as the turn is very sharp off a busy road. Two car parks, one a bit further away from the hotel building.
