Ok
The staff are nice and friend just that the hotel does not have breakfast ,they had to refer me to another hotel to take my breakfast which I had paid online. (10mins walk)...so watch out.. Hotel is calm and about 5mins from metro

There is no elevator in this property even for those gong as far as to the 5th floor. Cleaning was a problem to the extent the beddings were never changed for the whole one week we spent there. But the location is great and accessible to the metro lines. The staff were also friendly.

Not for a family with kids
We had booked a 3 double bed but we were given a 2 double bed smaller room. There was no lift in the building. The water in the shower stopped when I was giving a bath to my 1 year old kid and he had soap all over him for 15 minutes. The WiFi was terrible as the connection was very poor.

Not a nice hotel.
Further out of Paris than I expected from booking information. The bathroom was dirty, and no shower curtain, or toilet seat cover. The wifi only worked briefly. The fittings were battered. However the linen was clean.

I checked-in late by about 30 mins only to be told by the receptionist that I do not have a booking. Later she told me that she was not able to figure out earlier because someone else had claimed themselves to be me and the room had been allocated to them. Seriously ??? I was provided an alternate room (without a twin bed, for which I had a reservation) towards the rear side of the hotel. There was some construction work going on which was producing a lot of noise. It was a difficult thing to stay in the room with all the noise, so I asked them to change the room. They agreed to it but was told that I would be allocated a different room the next day :(. The same night I complained of insufficient heating in the room (the room heater was not working at all), to which they replied that room heating was automatic and hence not under their control. I wasn't expecting much from the hotel except the basic amenities which was missing, surprisingly. Overall, a disappointing experience, which was offset in part by good hospitality of the hotel staff. since she had given my room to someone else, who claimed themselves to be me, she was not able to figure out

Old hotel and it shows
Near Gurd du Nord (15 min walk), it was hard to find, it is right next to Porte Saint Martin off to side street in the residential area with several restaurants. Hotel is old building (reminds me of one cir 1900 NYC hotel), near bus stop 22 (to Opera) coming back bus 22 stops 3 blocks south. 5 min from Republique for metro. Ok, I had hard time about this place as it is under construction and price was bit high due to Easter break, so my rating will be according to the value and I feel bad as staff was very friendly and accomodating. Building is old, and facility is also old. Rooms were small, bathroom small. In my quad room, only two outlets (1 in bathroom and 1 by the door, 20 feet away from the bed.) Beds were average but wall papers were peeling off, shower head broken. The room gave me a buggy feeling and I have been hiby jiby about it. I checked for bed bugs (for all hotels even in Hilton) and it was clean. Place is kept clean but with construction some noise and dusts. No kitchen so no breakfast as well. for the price I have paid it was not a good value. For price below $80 it will compete with hostels so then it can be a value. Room has beds, TV, table and chairs, small closet space. Bathroom has shower, toilet, and sink. With staff on hand 24 hours, security is good and very friendly.

Disappointing hotel with friendly staff
This hotel was not what we were hoping for in Paris. In my opinion, 1 star would have meant that I would have asked for a refund and not stayed. 2 stars means that we tolerated it for the 3 days that we were there but it was quite disappointing. The room was not very clean and the bathroom was pretty dirty. The shower head was broken so you had to hold it to rinse off. The bathroom was also so tiny that you could barely shut the door.

1-2 star hotel in bad condition w bad wifi
This hotel is truly more like a 1.5- 2 star. It's in general run-down condition- everything's falling apart and it doesn't look like anyone does basic maintenance. (demonstrated by the fact that simple things like light bulbs haven't been changed- which doesn't sound important except the when it's a light bulb that keeps the shower in pitch black if out). The walls are thin, the area is under construction so it's constant noise all day. There's only 1 outlet in the first room- at a 3ft height by the door? No room to move in the bathroom such that you can't really move between toilet and shower and need to leave the door open to have space. The wifi is terrible. I moved rooms after the first night hoping it would improve and I get about 4 min more of steady internet on the first floor. (Note- if you do end up here request a room on the first floor away from the street as they seem to be in slightly better condition). It's honestly one of the worst budget hotels I've stayed anywhere in the world- not worth the money- should be around 30$ at most.

satisfied
Overall a nice place to spend a few nights. Typical old, cheap European hotel. The two gentlemen at the front desk were great. Learn some basic French before you arrive and it will help. Room was adequate. Very small bathroom and shower. I brushed my teeth by standing outside of the bathroom in order to get down to the sink....it was too narrow to bend over inside the bathroom. Two large windows with Juliet balconies provided a nice breeze in the evening.

Avoid!
The only good thing about the hotel is the centered location, but it's also very unsafe area 2 mins from chateau d'eau which is very unsafe. The hotel is rusty, with no facilitates (you can't even find a towel or a soap inside the bathroom nor a telephone inside the room), No one cleaned the room for the whole stay. The bed is not comfortable at all, and the sheets were unclean and there's no lift. The WiFi kept disconnecting the whole time. IT'S A MESS!

Great people, I did not know any french and they were very patience. A French Breakfast is available for 5 Euros per person when I was there. If you put it in with your payment then it will be included. Please be aware that it is only a French Breakfast. I am American so I was unaware and was expecting a brunch style continental breakfast. The breakfast consist of a baguette, croissant with butter or jelly, coffee, teas, hot chocolate. This is very yummy by the way and fresh.

Perfect for us!
This was a great hotel to stay at for our short visit. Every one was so helpful and nice. Down the street there is a grocery store and a laundry mat. Perfect for us because we have been going nonstop for six days and running out of clean clothes and needed to stay in one place and relax! This was PERFECTION! Down the corner is a wonderful place to eat and have a drink. I would most definitely stay again. Thank you fo such a great stay. *****

Nice and quaint
I really enjoyed this hotel. I was only there for one night but I could tell it was really clean. Although there was only one plug, located behind the tv. That was unfortunate. But he wifi worked okay and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.

Construction site
The hotel is a construction site. The room is tiny and wash/toilet facilities dismal. The reception staff are very approachable and help. The location is also quite good. But make no mistake, this place should not be open as it is a construction site.

Great for the price for a short stay
This is a very old building in an active neighborhood in Paris. Close to Metro, eatries, & a laundry 2 doors down. The night staff speaks no English. The breakfast is bread, coffee, & juice only, but very nice. For the price, it's great, but nothing fancy.
