This is a wonderful upscale small boutique hotel experience. We were fortunate enough to get Room 6, which has a view over the park and city in the front of the building. The owners have done a superb job renovating a 200-year old house which has only 9 rooms. The rooms are small and efficient, but have beautiful finishes, a the bed and pillows are very comfortable. The area is generally very quiet but you are still within walking distance of the Fairmont, restaurants, shops and the Citadel. There is a bike rental stand just down the street, it is a wonderful place to explore on bike. The staff at Cap Diamant, led by Paula and Chantal, are superb. Breakfast with nice croissants and coffee is included, and you can enjoy it in the lush courtyard to the rear of the building. Coming and going is easy because all locks have 4-digit passcodes, so you can come and go as you please, even outside of regular staff attendance hours.
A couple of caveats: first, this is not for those with diffuvclty climbing stairs. The stairs inside the building are old and steep, and even the front entry requires a half flight of stairs to access. The rooms are small, and the bathrooms remind me more of european efficiency units than American sized bathrooms, despite their opulent finishes. Rooms do have nice quiet AC inverter units, which we enjoyed on the humid days, but other night we slept with windows open which is quite refreshing.Would highly recommend to those looking for a unique boutique hotel
