6/10 Good

This place was nice, and we had a fine stay overall. But I really didn’t appreciate how they had Fox News on in the lobby with the sound on, while I was having breakfast. And there was even a sticker on the tv that said “don’t touch the TV.” It didn’t even let me change the channel. I come on vacation to relax, not to hear about politics and Trump. Especially ridiculous that they don’t even let you change it.

Less than average stay
Rented a room with Jacuzzi tub for the jets to be faulty and work for 10 minutes and randomly turning on in the middle of the night. Fridge didn't work until we kajoled the plugs around. Front desk was less than helpful and a little off putting. The pool was conveniently closed while we were there. The continental breakfast was ok.

We needed a place to stay and this place had the only opening. While it worked, it is definitely due for an update. The carpet in our room was definitely stained, old and pulling away from the corners, (we always kept something on our feet). The room had 2 windows that were supposed to open. One had a lock on it b/c the screen was missing. The other could open, but having a huge arachnophobia; we dare not do so b/c the screen didn’t fit appropriately and there were so many spiders and webs around the window. Um, spray water from a house to dispatch these arachnids or call the Orkin folks to come out.

We arrived to check in and were given keys to a room either still occupied or just not cleaned. So we stood at front desk for 15 minutes while the guy texted someone else to figure it out. No apology or any words from the bearded front desk fella. The hot tub wasn’t hot at all. Which was a main thing we were looking forward to after being outdoors in the cold all day. They had hot chocolate packets out, but couldn’t give a styrofoam cup because he said they get locked up at 10am. If your looking for 1 or 2 star hotel, this is your place.

It was advertised that the pool room is open from 10am to 10pm, however, we were told by the front desk that it would be closing at 9pm so that he could go home. He was quite grumpy. The whirlpool was closed entirely. The wifi kept disconnecting from the TV as to be unusable. The coffee in the morning was not good. There wasn't any local information about hiking trails in the area. The room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable and there were plenty of towels, pillows, and blankets.

Our stay was nice. Property is nice, but inconvenient. Breakfast items too limited, no cold water available once hotel desk is out at 9 pm. Parking somewhat limited. Otherwise a good hotel, nice suite, outdated bed comforters but does not smell.

4/10 Fair

Carpet in our room had multiple stains and appeared dirty. The decor in the room is out of date and appeared to be 30 years old. When we requested a different room, the person at the front desk indicated that no other rooms were available. Very disappointed in the condition of the property.

2/10 Poor

Maintenance
The room maintenance was terrible with a roof leak that is pealing back the popcorn ceiling. The sink faucet was almost impossible to operate because the handle was tight. The continental breakfast was almost nonexistent.

The room was clean supplied with hygiene products. However, the mattress was not comfortable and I didn’t get rest. The room was not supplied with a coffeemaker and coffee. The free continental breakfast was little to be desired. I felt for the price of the room there should have been more variety.

Please get rid of the internet-based smart TV, and return to real cable or satellite TV. I realize it's cheaper, but there is nothing worth watching, it buffers constantly, and I'm sure it saps the strength of the hotel wi-fi. Which brings me to the problem of weak wi-fi. I was in room 113, and I'm sure it was worse for me, being at the end of the hotel. But I had to move to the lobby to find stronger wi-fi to get my work done. This is the only negative. Apart from this annoyance, which is fixable, I love staying at the Aspen Inn.
