Actually cut short the trip in Jakarta as there was little to do, from a tourist point of view. This hotel was clean and served a good breakfast, it was quite a big buffet breakfast of various foods.
The thing that irritated me beyond belief was the lift music that seemed to be played in the hall area of the rooms. I was awoken at 5:30am by this generic background music that belonged in a lift, playing over and over again!? Why? I have no idea. They normally turned it off at night, but we was situated by a lift and it sounded like a traditional door bell with surround sound speakers, no lift in the world, especially a hotel needs that level of sound to warn you have reached a floor.
As we were the only Caucasians in the hotel, we were stared at during breakfast time, it does sort of put you off your toast when you have some of the guest's gazes locked onto you like you are from a different planet. I'm sure they can now go home and tell their family that aliens do in fact eat toast, sometimes with a topping of nutella.
Location, for me, was not great, seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, taxis always trying to rip you off and the train service, although nearby, was a mixed bag of your destination station was even open!
On a more positive note, staff were friendly and always tried to be of assistance.
