St Palais sur mer hotel.
Decent hotel in a Great location for the beach and on the Royan coastal cycle path. Check in was simpke and friendly. Breakfast was high quality continental with superb coffee and pastries. The room was small but well appointed, well maintained and very clean.

Charming, good breakfast, perfect location
The room was charming and clean. Our room was on the -1 floor, which caused a little difficulty. The only way to get fresh air was to open the door to a small patio behind the building, which also served as an emergency exit. Also, the shower drain backed up, causing a flood of the toilette and half of the bedroom. Although the staff was swift and thorough in cleaning up the overflow, they did not offer us any concession for the inconvenience and wetting of some of our luggage. However, they did help us in other matters such as local phone calls and amenities. The continental breakfast there was delightful, with a tasty array of meats, cheeses, and flaky breads and pastries.

Excellent location for the town and beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful with a good breakfast. Rooms were clean but could have done with a kettle for a cup of tea in the evening! I would certainly stay here again.

Good for a family beach holiday
We were allocated a very small upstairs room on arrival. Would have been OK but cramped. The owner moved us to a downstairs room with access to the terrace when she realised we were travelling with a dog. I would recommend these rooms if they are available. The hotel's position is second to none and is fantastic for access to the beach.
