Passing through
It just didn't look like it did online. The inside was spacious and decent looking but the outside could use some work. Plus I'm not from here so i didn't know about the area.

Picture of hotel is bait
This picture is not a true representation of this hotel. It’s dingy, smells of bleach in the common areas, homeless People are wandering around the front, the place looks like it is abandoned. I was afraid to stay in the room alone but after a day and a half I left even though I paid in advance For 5 days. The room was clean with old furniture and no amenities. The parking garage gate key entry was broken and hanging off you had to press a button for the front desk to let you in. The front desk area looked old and dilapidated. Needless to say I wish I could have cancelled this reservation and got my money back. Please REMOVE THE PICTURE YOU USE FOR THIS HOTEL. IT’S A LIE. days.

Barcelona Suites- Ambuquerque, NM
The hotel was OK. It is not in the best area. Because of vagrants, they lock the front door and have to be rung in. Breakfast was supposed to be provided free but not on Sunday or Monday. Then on Tuesday, the person responsible called in sick. We never got the chance to experience a breakfast on the premises. Housekeeping was good but they must be told not to provide toilet paper until it is gone. We were provided one roll when we arrived. The room was not made on the day after our arrival. I went to the desk to ask for replacement rolls and was given the first degree by the man at the desk at night. He wanted to know why we needed a roll after 1 day. The tub is not really ADA complient. There was 1 bar which aided in stepping into the tub but no bar on the wall near the soap dish. I would rate the hotel overall with 3 stars out of 5.

Outdated and spooky
Very outdated hotel. We didn’t feel comfortable coming out of our room not even to go have free breakfast. It was so spooky, smelled weird, and a lot of homeless people around. We couldn’t wait to check out! You can tell it once was a nice hotel but not anymore, so sad it has a lot of potential.

2/10 Poor

This used to be a nice hotel.
I was surprised to have to pay a $100 deposit in cash to stay. I have never had to do this before. The parking garage ceiling was barely tall enough for me to pull my pickup in and park. I had to be extremely careful. They only had one luggage cart and I had to wait 45 minutes for it to become available. I had to go to the front desk twice to finally get it. The facility used to be nice but it is run down now with chipped tile and walls. The room was poorly lighted. One light fixture was missing a bulb and the other bulb was burned out. The towels were poor quality. Roof vents were damaged or missing. The fountains were all dry. I purchased my room through Hotels.com. If I had booked at the front desk it would have been about $40 cheaper.

My family has been staying at Barcelona for many years, we have always liked that it was close to the fairgrounds and we always felt it was a safe place to stay in Albuquerque. Thats why it saddens me to see the state of it now, theres alot of questionable people hanging around the property and its needing alot of upgrades. The lady that checked us in last night was great and very friendly along with the gentlemen that checked us out this morning! The room was pleasant enough, I wouldn't call it really dirty but the bathroom definitely was needing upgraded. We didn't have any hot water to take showers but maybe that was just an issue last night.

Very disappointed
The air conditioner did not work well. The room was less than perfect in cleanliness. The pictures online from hotel.common not represent the true motel. They looked awesome but the place was lacking. In a very bad area! Not safe at all! Not the cleanest place! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Surprised you have it listed!

Memory Lane…
My family and I used to stay at this hotel many years ago for family weekend stays. We always had fond memories of going there; the swimming pools, beautiful atrium, and the happy hour snacks and drinks offered in said atrium. We decided to get a room here for a quick overnighter, and take a walk down memory lane. It’s still a large and beautiful hotel… but the area has become sketchy because of the homeless population and the messes they leave. The hotel offers a secured, underground parking lot, but the clearance on said parking lot was way too low for our Yukon to enter. We had to park at the Burger King next door. The room was very spacious, and the beds were comfortable enough, though they are still painted/decorated in a dated, almost late 70’s era. The atrium, although still there and beautiful, is not used - no snacks/drinks. The outdoor pool’s access door was locked, and the indoor pool’s floor looked a tad dirty. The hot tub water was cold and did not offer a dial to offer a timed warm-up/jacuzzi bubbles. Most of the people coming/going out of there looked as if they lived there, but were 1 step up from living in the streets. It was fine for a quick night, but we would not do it again, unless they fixed/cleaned things up a bit more.

Week end at Pow Wow
Went there for a pow wow. Th ehotel was 15 min from the airport and 5 min from the Tingley Coliseum where the fair took place. The hotel is a little old but have great potential. The people were friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room was big, more like a suite with a small living area and kitchen. If looking for dinner or entertainment around, a car is needed, not much at walking distance beside a Burger King.

This has to be the worst hotel in Albuquerque. As soon I walked in the door I was greeted by a couple on meth. The place was so dirty and smelly and even spooky looking. I would not stay in this place if they paid me to. I remember how nice it used to be 15 years ago. What a massive difference form class A to absolutely disgusting. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!
