Check In experience was smooth. The bar area was spacious and the staff were friendly and courteous. The room was ideal for my one night stay

Hotel is tired and despite the friendliest staff and the bedroom being quite nice and was clean theres only so much you can clearly do as a cleaner when the bathroom was so old and in need of refurbishing. I dont want to bash the hotel as the staff were lovely but the bathroom definitely needs some love.
Alison, 1-night trip

Its good value, but it would have been nice to know in advance that no soap or shower gel is provided

6/10 Good

Don’t know area just stayed overnight as long drive, hotel spacious and clean, big hotel clearly half empty (from availability) so why do they put you next to another occupied room - so you can hear laughter/talking loudly until after 01:00!
saskia, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The kitchen it was dirty and the staff arrogant tab was black not white, hot water not at all is the first hotel i go and they don't have hot water

Not sure i’d go back not a good sleep

It was good that we could check in anytime after 3pm, as we needed a late check in. The room was ok, it was clean and had all the things you need for an overnight stay. The beds are not comfy, the pillows are really hard and the springs in the mattress were sticking up. The walls are very thin and we could hear next doors conversations well into the early hours of the morning. Nosie on the corridor was loud during the night too. I suppose you get what you pay for, we only stayed for 1 night and it was enough.
Keeley, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel was good enough for a 2 night stay with my son for the Liverpool parade, It’s cheap and cheerful. Perfect for groups of lads that just want a room to put their heads down after a night out. Luckily my wife wasn’t with us because she would never have stayed in our room. It seriously needs an overhaul, so many jobs look like they’d been started but not finished.

2/10 Poor

Bed was like a concrete pillows no better breakfast was of poor quality, staff not intrested . Fell over in shower over bath due to shower curtain falling down, Won't be staying with Britannia again

No leisure or spa facilities

Hotel was clean and comfy. However it also states the property has leisure and spa services where as the option is still closed. One of reasons I booked hotel. But beds and everything else was good. Could have paid £20 less if it wasn’t due to the hotel stating it had these facilities
Shane, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The property was very easy to find. The Reception area inviting, clean and bright with a nice layout and comfortable seating. The Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was of a good size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Convenient parking and prices were reasonable. We would definitely return.
ian, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Won’t be a second visit

The restaurant was freezing, breakfast was low quality considering its £12, checkout is 10am, they wanted £10 for 11am checkout.
John, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Worse than camping

On arrival after booking alone , they said they was fully booked , then put me in a disabled bedroom , no towels or toiletries and it was absolutely freezing all night.
John, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Larch room comfortable bed clean and tidy just one problem in the bathroom low water pressure in the shower
Stepan, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Never again

Looked great at first. Travelled with my husband and 15 year old son. No barrel lock on bathroom door so couldn’t close it properly. Shower pressure was really bad, just a drizzle. The walls are paper thin and we could hear EVERYTHING the people next door were up to and it went on till the early hours.

Stay clear if you dont carry passport

What a ridiculous hotel .we checkedbin at 1am after a 6 hour drive obviously a little wary and we were confronted by a young lady asking for our passport i explained i did not have it .why would i need a passport in england ? She then said a credit caed would not do only a drivers licence.i explained mybwalletbwas in one of my bags in my very full car.she said unless you get it you cannot check in .i admit i lost it at that point but to be told by a non british subject that every hotel in the uk was the same is just plain lies .i travelled all over the uk last year and managed over 100 nights in hotel says .this is the first time in my life i have been told this rubbish .i checked into gleneagles todaybfor a week at no time was i asked for identification at any time .hotels.com are at fault here because it should have a warning saying unless you have id you cannot enter and would have to spend the evening in your car at -7degrees outside.nowhete does hotels.com tell you any of this.i certainly would never set foot in a britannia hotel again and would seriously question the people skills of its employees.i also may stop using hotels.com and go back to booking. Com they dont have these archaic rules ..shame on you britannia hotels
