On arrival I was informed the restaurant was fully booked, I could eat outside if I wished. My room was the loft room which was incredibly hot that night due to weather, with no form of cooling the room even a fan. Windows open and had to suffer the road noise all night. The basin in the bathroom was cracked, the floor covering had tears and puncher holes. The shampoo dispenser did not work, thought this would be checked when filled. Light fittings with dead fly’s in when hotels have only just been open for over a month. Being the loft room height is restricted and I can’t recall how many times I caught my back on exposed beams trying to get into and out of the bed. One of the power socket outlets was broken and would not take a plug. For a room with potentially two guests I felt 3x tea bags and 3x milks insufficient. Plenty of sugar though. I did not have an opportunity to try the food here but was not prepared to pay £15 for a full English breakfast which didn’t start until 7am. The overall condition of the room was clean and the decor was old fashioned which allows them to fill a room with old furniture. Bed comfortable and linen and towels very nice. I appreciate it was half term but felt my stay was overpriced. Feel the target guests are couples just wanting an easy time rather than my business trip. I could not recommend this hotel.
