We arrived late at night, well past their usual check-in times. While they were not happy with our tardiness, they were still polite and helpful to us, for which we are quite grateful. The hotel is right by Lake Shoji, and as advertised, we got a great view of Mount Fuji from our room. We were very happy with the breakfast provided by the hotel as well.
Unfortunately our visit was marred by some cleanliness issues in the room. The hotel is clearly a bit dated, and the towels were not too clean (musky odor), and the bedding had some stains. The room was set up strangely where after using the toilet (near the door), you had to walk all the way to the other end of the room to wash your hands.
Logistically, keep in mind that there are not too many eateries nearby open in the evenings, so you should either make a dinner reservation with the hotel, or you'll have to drive 15 - 20 minutes out to other towns.
