There's no way this should be a $125/night hotel. I know this is Osaka, but come on.
First off, nobody will have a clue where this is. Get off at JR Tennoji station and walk across the street. Look for a bunch of lit signs of the other hotels close to it; the one right next door is "Love Inn." There's a few pieces of white printer paper taped to the front of one building that says "Guest House Suzunami," not "Peace House Suzunami."
Read the poorly written e-mail they'll send you a week or so in advance; you'll have to punch in a code to get into the building.
There were holes in the walls. Multiple, gaping holes. I found exposed wiring. Wallpaper was peeling, and there were strange gouges in the wallpaper. The cold water knob was broken. Part of the floorboards were exposed; you could see the plywood underneath the carpet. The sheets either were very old or hadn't been washed in a while - I found somebody's pubic hair on my bed. I mean, I've finally gotten used to the idea of pubes and that people must have them, but I still don't want to see strangers' pubes on my bed.
Staff was strange. There was one guy who at least tried to be hospitable. The other guy just seemed startled that there were people staying at this place. The woman there was just really curt and unprofessional. When we told her there was no toilet paper, she just sat there and said, "Well, there should be toilet paper." She was also sitting on the welcome counter with her butt pressed against the window.
