It was simply the most terrible hotel I ever stayed at. Even though my reservation was for 7 nights, I was only able to last for 1 night and then I had to go to some other place. The room didn't even have enough space for me to unpack my bag. The bedsheets and towels were not clean, and the door was broken, the air conditioning didn't work, the bathroom smelled, and ... . I can't say enough about how awful the experience was. The only good thing about it was the beautiful view of the room and friendly staff.

Like the location and friendliness of the staff, Galata neighborhood is charming with great shops and cafés. Rooms are clean and in good shape considering how old the building is. Also liked the restaurant with good choice of Turkish wine and spectacular views of the city. Disliked the cleanliness of the breakfast restaurant, that also operates as a jazz nightclub Disliked the loud music and stomping coming from rooftop restaurant on a Friday late night. I suggest breakfast to be served on 9th floor for the views.

Great location crappy hotel
Room was very small and bathroom was not so clean. The air conditioner sucked and the noise from the street was very loud. The elevator was broken and stopped on every floor. The entrance is strange and you have to carry your luggage up a set of stairs.

Convenient for the sites
Easy access to the Galata Tower and Istiklal Cadesi which is full of eateries and bars. Tram stop to other main attractions only 5min walk from hotel. 4 out if 5 nights stayed were quiet, final night (a Wednesday) there was a party in the restaurant upstairs and the music kept us awake until 2am. The rooms are small with no where to store luggage but for a city break where you just want somewhere to sleep after a busy day sightseeing that's not a problem.

Nice hotel with good tram connections
Nice hotel very close to tram station and a short 5 min walk across the bridge to restaurants and mosques. A few short stops on the tram to arrive in main Istanbul area around Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace. Room was very small but we made do. Mini Fridge was not working and asked staff several times to have a look at however they kept forgetting. Although in the end they offered to bring us cold water to our room instead.

Great stay in Istanbul
Umit front desk was fantastic. Very nice man. Check in is not 24hrs as stated. Its 2pm. Great central area in Karaköy...walk to the mosques, Taksim, Galata or Bizaar....love Istanbul and this hotel had exactly what i wanted for 2 nights. Clean room, great bed, air con....mini bar...the works!!

Great view of the water while relatively quiet
I started at Purl hotel for 4 nights and overall is was a good experience. Walking distance to things in Kadiköy and nice to just wander back as I pleased. Room was clean and large (duplex) and bed was pretty comfortable. The sofa was comfortable to lounge in as well. Now the problems including smoke coming in the room from adjacent rooms and the hall way was not nice. The staff did clean and spray the hallway but it still had that smell of cigarette lingering. My room for the most part was smoke scent free. Also the carpeting in the third floor Hall is disgusting and should be just pulled out because of for traffic. The other issue is the wifi, almost non existent. It connects but my free Sprint service was faster at times. Staff were very inventive, scheduled a taxi for me and always had a smile on their faces. Also first night the safe was locked and the TV didn't work and the staff member jumped out of his seat after asking if he could come see it now and everything was resolved in under 5 minutes. Overall, thanks for the great stay and will keep you in mind for my next stay in Istanbul. Cheers

Very good location, two minutes walking to Karakoy Sahil. It's amazing to have a cup of coffee there in the morning with fantastic view. The room is okay but would it be perfect if there was a balcony, but unfortunately all the rooms do not have balcony!

Excellent location , rooms are not very clean and neglected. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly especially Murat and Abdullah. Breakfast is so basic and served outside of hotel, in a street canteen.
