"Rooms are clean and well-maintained with everything you need. Checking in and out are all done digitally on kiosks, and there is a very friendly and helpful staff there to assist if you have trouble. Convenient location and secure parking. Couldn't give five stars because there was a peculiar smell all throughout the building (thankfully not in the rooms) and because the sofa bed mattress was too thin and uncomfortable. The main bed mattresses were great, though."

  1. Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Sydney on a budget is a brilliant idea, particularly between May and July when you might find lower prices on hotels. For an optimal experience, plan to stay for at least 3 to 4 days to explore the city's rich blend of landmarks, history, and culture. During your visit, you can enjoy attractions such as the iconic port, the world-famous opera, delightful shopping areas, beautiful gardens, stunning architecture, impressive art galleries, scenic ferry rides, exquisite dining options, and renowned museums and theatres. This period offers great value for money and could drop the cost of your trip, making it an affordable choice for travellers seeking both culture and affordability.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for hotels in Sydney, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. It's wise to enable email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions that could offer great savings on hotels. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool, accessible via the app, allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're among the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop for your preferred accommodations.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your dates may assist you in finding a more economical option for your stay in a Sydney hotel. For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and may occasionally offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price happens to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more favourable rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated nearer to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Sydney's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
