Ubud City-Centre
Ubud City-Centre pulses with Balinese artistic energy and spiritual vibes at every turn. Sacred Monkey Forest tempts with mischievous primates swinging through ancient moss-covered temples. The Traditional Art Market buzzes with local craftspeople selling intricate batiks and wood carvings. Campuhan Ridge Walk rewards early risers with emerald valley views while traditional dance performances light up Ubud Palace nightly. Most visitors navigate the compact center on foot, though scooter rentals and ride-sharing apps make exploring rice terraces beyond town easy. Dining ranges from $2 local warungs to plant-based cafes catering to yoga enthusiasts. Boutique hotels and traditional guesthouses nestle among tropical gardens, offering peaceful retreats from the lively cultural hub.

Nyuh Kuning
Nyuh Kuning gives you authentic Balinese village life without the tourist hustle. This peaceful neighborhood sits right next to the famous Monkey Forest, where ancient temples peek through jungle canopy. Watch master woodcarvers and painters create traditional art in open-air workshops. Join a local family for home-cooked meals, or wander through compounds with intricate stone carvings and colorful ceremonial gates. Small family-run warungs serve delicious nasi campur and traditional satay at wallet-friendly prices. Most places close early, matching the village's natural rhythms. Homestays and modest guesthouses offer genuine cultural exchange with Balinese families. Walking paths connect to central Ubud in about 20 minutes, with motorcycle taxis available for quicker trips.

Pengosekan
Pengosekan gives you Bali's rich culture without the tourist crush. The neighborhood is home to traditional woodcarving workshops where you can watch skilled artists transform teak into treasures. Sacred temples peek out between emerald rice terraces, while art galleries showcase vibrant Balinese paintings. The Ubud Monkey Forest offers wild encounters just minutes away. Stay in converted family compounds where roosters serve as your alarm clock. Local warungs dish up authentic nasi campur and bebek betutu for just a few dollars. Getting around requires ojeks or rented bicycles since public transport is limited. Morning mist over the rice fields makes every early wake-up worthwhile.

Sambahan
Sambahan offers a peek into real Balinese village life where rice terraces roll into the distance and temple ceremonies fill the air. This peaceful spot lets you step away from tourist crowds and into a world of traditional architecture, morning gamelan music, and aromatic incense from daily offerings. Take gentle walks through lush tropical landscapes or learn about rice farming from locals who've done it for generations. Meals here come from family homestays and simple warungs serving authentic Balinese cooking with ingredients from nearby gardens. Getting around means walking narrow village paths or arranging private transport to nearby Ubud. Traditional compounds with thatched roofs and carved details provide a genuine cultural immersion for travelers seeking the quiet side of Bali.

Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana
"Staying at Tanah Gajah in Ubud was an absolute highlight of our time in Bali. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were blown away by the level of care and hospitality. The staff here are truly extraordinary. Every single team member made us feel genuinely welcomed, greeting us by name every day and anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Whether we needed recommendations, help with logistics, or just a quick chat about our plans, everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and super helpful. The resort’s amenities were top-tier across the board. The serene pool, lush paddy field surroundings, and quiet, spacious grounds provided the ultimate peaceful retreat after exploring the island. Every detail of the estate feels thoughtful, luxurious, and deeply connected to Balinese culture while delivering modern comfort. If you are looking for an authentic, high-touch luxury escape with world-class service in Ubud, Tanah Gajah exceeds every expectation. We can’t wait to return!"
Element by Marriott Bali Ubud
"Not a big of a deal but water leaked from the shower room into the toilet area. It would be helpful if there are more towels placed in the room. I requested to leave extra towels in the room for the second night, but they didn't. It worked out ok. All the hotel staffs are nice and friendly. They are very helpful. The hotel gave us such a warm hospitality. I would stay there again."
The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali
"A superb hotel. Spent a week here in July 2026. Received a very warm welcome upon arrival and checked in to a standard room, more than adequate, spacious with a walk in shower and bath room. Bed was super comfy and huge! The pool area is more than adequate with sun beds available at all hours of the day. The pool has a great view over the nearby forest. Took advantage of the spa which provided excellent treatment, a little bit of extra luxury. The breakfast is very good with all you’d expect from a buffet catering to all cultural tastes. The 2 restaurants are good, although you may wish to go farther afield for some authentic Indonesian cuisine. Plenty available. The staff are super attentive, always around to serve at the pool or dining facilities. Always a sincere friendly greeting. The hotel Is about a 15 minute cheap taxi out of Ubud away from the busy areas. Only minor read for improvement would be room balcony, ours was a little shabby and not so Inviting as it was very close to the main road. Maybe request a room facing away from the road if affected by noise. Overall we would definitely visit again and recommend to any wishing to visit Ubud."
MĀUA OLEA Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel
"If you're debating whether to book this resort, just do it! My husband and I had an amazing stay. The room was incredibly luxurious, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed. We also loved the beautiful architecture and the thoughtful attention to detail throughout the property. The staff were warm, attentive, and always more than happy to help with anything we needed, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We also loved the nightly turndown service, especially the thoughtful mini treats left in the room—it was such a lovely touch. The location is another big plus. It's just a short distance from Ubud Center, making it very convenient to explore the area's shops, restaurants, and attractions while still enjoying a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere at the resort. The spa was excellent and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. My only suggestion would be to offer a few more Western breakfast options, such as bacon and sausage. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!"

For a well-rounded exploration of Ubud’s rich cultural heritage—including its temples, ancient forests, traditional dancing, spa retreats, local culture, yoga sessions, biking trails, rafting experiences, art galleries, and romantic spots—it is advisable to stay for at least 3 to 4 days. This period provides great value for money while allowing you to appreciate the area's landmarks, history, and culture.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for hotels in Ubud, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounts close to your travel date. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, increasing your chances of finding the best offer. With these resources, you’ll be promptly alerted if room availability changes or prices drop, making your last-minute getaway easier to plan.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and season, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a Ubud hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised experience and occasionally offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will indicate whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears higher, we might suggest alternative, more affordable dates to assist you in finding a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre typically cost more, but thanks to Ubud's excellent public transport links, you may well find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is usually excellent value for money.
