Be really careful if you are a family...
Our stay was disappointing overall. We were staying in the Family Room, but were not advised when booking that on our second night immediately below that room would be a rock band, performing until 10:30pm. Immediately below the Family Room!?!?!? The floor was literally shaking, which left us with 3 distressed children. A really appalling situation. On top of that, after a disappointing dinner on the first evening (our order was lost by the kitchen, so our food took 90 minutes to arrive, and the steaks were poor quality too), at breakfast time we found that the milk in the jug for the cereal was sour, and the apple juice had gone off (started to ferment/go fizzy) too. We won't return.

Our stay was a little shadowed by mould in the shower which you could smell, consequently neither of us used the shower which isnt ideal , ordinarily we might have spoken up but being there only 6 rooms presumed there would be no option to move, bit of a shame as this is a nice country pub, nice staff, nice food ,we stayed in room 3 for reference, unfortunately we would not return:(

Very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Good pub food. As we were leaving early in the morning, missing breakfast, they made us all a packed lunch. Happy for camper vans to stay free of charge in the car park, if you have last minute additions to your group travel plans.

Excellent!!
Lovely restaurant & bar we have been here a few times for food which is always lovely , we decided to book in and stay for a night. Staff were very accommodating and helpful and went above and beyond for us. Only slight issue was the room was a little small and would have been great if it had a bath , but never the less we had a lovely stay it was worth the money.

Northern gem!
Stayed one night in a great room. Really difficult to find a place that will have beds for 2 adults and 3 children in one room, but this was great, and space to move around in too. Only niggle was the mattress on the double bed has seen better days 😐. Great people, really lovely food and we will be back!

Communication spoils a very nice place
The place is well positioned in beautiful countryside but both telephone and internet connections are extremely limited. If you’re on vacation that’s no issue but if on business like myself it is a problem.

Beautiful location excellent value for money
Just spent a weekend in Northumberland and stopped at this gem in the countryside with my mum. The pub was spotless and all the staff were really friendly and very helpful. We had a twin room with an ensuite and kitchen facilities. Tea and coffee were provided, also a hairdryer and iron. They had thought of everything. The kitchen staff had recently took over and the food was amazing, freshly cooked, presented beautifully and very large portions! I would highly recommend this for a comfortable stay with really friendly people

Interesting stay
Has to walk over a flat roof and down a fire escape after hours as the pub closed at 11pm The room was quaint clean and tidy. One grumble was that the toilet could do with some bleach as it was discoloured. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice in the restaurant
