Lovely place to stay
The only thing i could possibly have a slight problem with was that the duvet cover didnt fit on the duvet so if you move too much the cover comes off. Apart from that we had a fabulous stay

Very large bedroom with fantastic shower, well decorated and comfy bed. Note no breakfast available, but plenty of options nearby. The hotel is due to be renovated in October and the exterior needs a bit of tlc. Good food and helpful staff...

Nice place to stay overall
Nice accomodation and comfy bed, shower pressure low and mould between tiles was a little disappointing but service wonderful and food in the evening was very lovely. Note that they do not do breakfast Monday to Wednesday inclusive.

I knew we were going to be right at home the moment we walked through the door and they had The Specials playing on the sound system! Beyond that, it's a really lovely place to stay - friendly staff, great food, and a comfortable room. The village is pretty and unspoiled - it's always a pleasure to breathe proper country air. We'll return there for sure.

Family visit
Very helpful owner, nothing too much trouble. Warm rooms, all we needed for a one night stay. Would stay again when visiting area.

The place is lovely. Good pub serving great food. Rooms are at the back of the property in another building. There is no breakfast served during the week, only at weekends, and no staff on site after the pub closes, so check out is just placing the room key in a secure box and a receipt emailed to you. This may be an issue for some guests.

Wat no breakfast !
Arrived around 7.45 afterca long drive. Check in was easy enough. Was asked if i wanted to eat and told the kitchen shut in 10 minutes. Allegedly thisvdie to some football being on as the hotel info said the kitchen was opened to later. Dropped bag into room and went to the bar. Ordered food and to be fair it was good. Was then informed the hotel did not serve breakfast. That was not made clear when booking. Room was clean and comfortable.

Good, but will be great!
Lovely hotel undergoing systematic upgrading of rooms. Ours was clean, comfortable and quiet with good distant views of the coast. Boiler due to be replaced soon, consequently, shower not hot enough. Apparently, we needed to be more patient. Food was absolutely excellent. Will visit again.

Going to be brilliant....
Lovely people, great food, just an odd setup as it made no mention when booking that they don't offer breakfast during the week, and there was no house keeping service. A problem with my shower brought a rapid response from a really nice manager/owner, and in time the place is clearly going to be as attractive as its food.

Overnight stay
Needs a lot of touching up in rooms. We had sand falling from ceiling above us onto the toilet in en-suite through the cracks in ceiling. Decoration needs doing long time since had TLC Owners are lovely and have just taken over it so things will improve.

Breakfast not available !
Basically clean and comfortable. But astonished to find out that this hotel does not provide breakfast ! Water pressure very poor - we were advised that it could take 15 minute for hot water to flow (and it did take that long) Bar closed very early. Was closed when we came back to the hotel around 9.30pm.

A big shout out to Shirley and Aaron! They were brilliant! The family room was spacious, but, no hot water to have a shower, no bin in the bathroom, no chair for the desk in the room. Limited menu. Didn’t get what I ordered on one occasion, neither did my travelling companion, she got a vegan burger instead of the burger she did order. On the plus side, beds were comfortable and the towels were lovely. TV had very limited stations and we could not angle it properly to watch unfortunately. One of the staff we spoke to said the boiler had yet to be replaced, very much like many things at the lodge. We paid for 2 nights bed and breakfast, Sunday we got breakfast, unfortunately for us we were told it was only served Thursday to Sunday so take note.
Jeanette, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The staff were lovely and the beds were comfy however, the beds should have been one double and it was actually 2 singles pushed together, one of which was broken so the 'double' was on two levels and I was on the half that was wonky so kept rolling to the middle. The accommodation itself could be amazing but it's old, dated, and needs some TLC or at least a lick of paint. There were hairs all over the bathroom from different people, the carpet needed a good hoover and there was a cable right outside the door that was uncovered and potentially dangerous. The bed had a drawer that was broken and stuck out, which I tripped over so wasn't too thrilled at that. Saying that, it was quiet, it served a purpose but I'm not entirely sure we would return. Also just to add, we did pay less than £100 so I guess you get what you pay for.
