A lovely hotel, where I've stayed several times previously. I got to bring my wife this time and she also loved it. I will be going back again.

8/10 Very Good

Very original style of building and the room is very nicely equipped. The jacuzzi in the bathroom was very nice offer. The Breakfast was not great and service mediocre at the breakfast room. The expresso coffee is not what I expected to find in Germany. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and the hotel is very nicely located not too far from the rail station and the station.

Something positively different
Unique atmosfere in the hotel. Old medieval type building and room, soiced up with waterbed. The atmosphere ends when you go out. Quite industrial looking neighbourhood. Very much enjoyed my short stay.

Fake nunnery, new, looks very old, very well done, good design. Hair in bathtub and on floor. 3 barking dogs right below room 107 .... who runs a hotel keeping 3 dogs below guest rooms!

Ongoing building work at the hotel
but don't let that bother you..... Back for a second visit and it is as good. The hotel is quirky in a wonderful sense, ex with little alcoves lit by candles and sticking with its original religious overtones. Restaurant, mainly italian food, good quality, maybe a little pricey if you pick high end grappa as a digestive and the service excellent. We ended up talking a mix of English, German and Italian to the staff. The bedroom was comfortable, large and airy, but needs something for the odd biting insect that gets in to the room through open windows, as there was no A/C. The surprise was a waterbed four poster bed. Plenty of table space if you were there on business. The bathrooms have bespoke features and much of the wood used in the refurbishment recycled. Put aside the noise of the workmen and join in.... There was I, digging this hole....

One night in the San Gabriele
We liked the hotel and old/new decor concept. Our room was fun, interesting and comfortable. We opened all windows to cool off, and found heavy machinery parked outside our room. It was a holiday, so not working at the time. Parking was free but challenging, as the main lot had little room left when we arrived. Parking on the street worked fine, but is limited. The wifi was our only complaint. It was nearly impossible to keep any signal from the time we checked in until we left. A drawback for those whi need connectivity, a nuisance for us. The restaurant was good though pretty warm inside. Once our server asked if she could open the door next to the table (and out to the parking lot) it was very enjoyable. We had a good stay and would not hesitate to repeat our visit!

After a very long drive we were made to feel very welcome. Food was excellent and waiter very attentive. Only slight criticism would be that room was very hot and could have benefited from air con or a fan, however the weather was exceptionally hot

Perfect stay both for business and relax
It is always a pleasure to me returning to Hotel San Gabriele in Rosenheim during my business trips. Sometimes I even prefer to go back to spend the night Rosenheim even if I have some business meetings in Muenchen. The athospere is extremely welcoming, service and rooms are excellent and you feel like home, if you're looking for an impersonal and sterile reception/rooms. Breakfast is rich and the annexed restaurant is excellent, with fine cousine and an interesting wine list. The sorrounding area is green and offers many possibilities for outdoor activities, leisure time, shopping and relax.

Quirky hotel
Stayed here as a last stop on the way to Austria from the UK. As other reviews indicate, a recently built hotel themed as a monastery, with waiters dressed as monks. Get the idea? Its like something you would get at Disneyland, but strangely enough, that is not a bad thing. The rooms are excellent, large, comfortable and clean, very well furnished and surpassed expectations. Staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant good enough to clearly be a destination for locals in its own right., serving perfectly good, but not exceptional, Italian food. Overall, a very good find, that we will stay at again.

Lovely small hotel. Architecture is different on the inside with oddly shaped doorways, passages, and deeply recessed light fixtures, but the overall effect is very pleasant. The rooms are a bit small, but are quite comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with an ample selection of fresh breads, jams, meats, and cheese. They also offered various juices, yogurts, and cereals. There were also scrambled and over-easy eggs that were not overcooked. The coffee was very good, important to Starbucks / Peet's addicts like myself. I haven't had a full meal at the restaurant, but I look forward to trying that on my next time through. The hotel is also located next door to a large store, convenient if you have forgotten something for your trip. I would stay here again.

Dissatisfied in Rosenheim.
Disappointments: 1) found garbage can with garbage in it 2) no soap is being provided (yet shampoo is) 3) TV non functional 4) code for free wifi was expired and no one at front desk to provide replacement. Manager/Owner refused to accept responsibility for all above. We will not go back to this hotel.

Pleasant hotel in a great location. Lovely terrace bar perfect for nice evenings. Comfortable bedding. A little trouble with internet, but was addressed by staff. Would stay again.

Quirky but fun hotel.
This is an old building that has been thoroughly updated to modern standards, in a quirky and amusing 'medieval' theme. Great fun, but not for purists! Lovely spacious and well appointed rooms. Lighting in the restaurant is rather low, and menu is limited if you don't eat fish. But the standard of the food is very good.

Good trains to Munich, Salzburg, excellent food
We extended a Rhine River cruise with a trip to Munich to see Oxtoberfest. Although it rained, we had a great time. The hotels in Munich were all booked way in advance, but we do not mind driving or taking the train to have a nice hotel. The rain actually cooled off the region, which had been experiencing record heat. Glad of that because no AC in the room. Helpful staff, arranged taxis, great restaurant (breakfast and esp dinner). Also, a big food and department store easy walk away.

We stayed one night. The room was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was great. We did not have dinner there, but the menu looked good; lots of Italian.
