Dogs only...
The hotel says "pets welcome" but they do not mention that they only accept one pet per room, and that they also only accept dogs. We were told no cats. If you are traveling with any other type of pet, or more than one pet, this is not the hotel for you.

Cozy spot halfway through Baja
One night stay on a road trip through Baja. Hotel was adorable & very clean. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but ate at nearby Mario’s and highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again

I have stayed at the halfway inn a number of times. With highway 5 being paved the entire way this really is a one day drive to/ from home for southern California, making a drive to Loreto, La Paz, or Los Cabos an easy two day trek.
The hotel is very safe for guests and their vehicles, you are surrounded by the military base. The restaurant and bar are good and a good value. I usually stay here in winter for the grey whales. On this trip I met a few families from Ensenada who had come down to escape the heat, the town must have a microclimate as the temperature was in only in the 70s in July when other spots to the north and south were over 90 degrees.
Suggestions- spread out the booked rooms... the hotel was not crowded yet they put all the guest in rooms right next to each other. Also, you need to ask for the AC remote on check-in. It was not hot but still it would have been nice to be able to turn on the air at a certain point in the night.
