Hotel Villa Rizzo is in a gorgeous mountain setting. It is a little hard to find, and we had a TomTom gps system, but we eventually zeroed in on it.
We checked in at night, and found the restaurant is not open in the winter months. But, there is a little town nearby, and the manager directed us to a good restaurant.
We thought we would have the usual room that accommodates three, as our son was traveling with us, but we had a two story, two bedroom, two bath condo! We were able to cook the next night in the ample kitchen, buying supplies from a local grocery.
Breakfast is not included, but you can buy it for 10 Euros apiece, a little steep for what was offered. We were given a half-off discount for some reason, which seemed more reasonable. The breakfast room was freezing, so we wore our coats both mornings. To be fair however, I think there was only one or two other guests staying there, and it's expensive to heat rooms in the winter. The second morning, we took our cappuccini and sat in front of the fireplace fire to stay warm.
There is a spa and pool, and our son used the gym, which he said served all his needs.
The location is quite good if you're wanting to see the Amalfi Coast or Paestum, and then have a retreat to return to, and staying there in the warm months must be very relaxing.
