Great stay in New Haven! Hotel Marcel has a modern look and everything we needed. Plenty of parking, comfortable/clean room, and a nice restaurant/bar. Close to the popular New Haven pizza spots too.

Meh.
The architecture is magnificent - the Brutalist structure and details of the exterior are great. Unfortunately, the interior experience was wanting. I was greeted by 3 desk clerks who were all on their cell phones; my registration process was cheerless and not particularly hospitable. The cost differed significantly from the amount that Hotels.com had given me but I was too exhausted when I checked-in to investigate. My room was small with no source of fresh air and a clever control panel in the wall that controlled all lighting and HVAC. Great, but a handheld device would have made so much more sense. The room was devoid of comfort - the bed was hard and the pillows lumpy. No bathtub. Directly adjacent to an IKEA store, which might make it traffic-y at some times of day. I chose this hotel because it had many EV chargers nearby; this worked out well for me as I could easily charge my Bolt EUV overnight.
