No hot water
The room was pretty basic lacked wardrobes and security safe. The main problem was the hot water. It had mind of its own, worked at time other times it was stone cold!! We complained to reception, and they said it there was problem with the boiler and could not help. The manager could not be located and made note to refund proportion of the cost. Still waiting.

The room was clean and spacious. My wife and I are in our seventies. We were actually shocked to find only one chair in the room, a desk chair at a small desk. The room could easily handle a couple of regular chairs of a couch and yet one of us only had a bed as an option. This is outrageous! Additionally, for the first time in my travels, I was unable to connect to the internet. After multiple attempts, and with no seats, I simply spent my last evening ever in thie Tru by Hilton which is untrue to travelers.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast was great too. However, the air conditioning was not working well in our room and the hallways. The air conditioner in the room was so loud, it was hard to sleep. The floor was dirty also. For the price we paid, we would have expected better.

Nice for short stays
Had a pretty good short stay at Tru. We stayed 2 nights while we visited Carowinds. The hotel seemed newer and was clean. Breakfast was served but we never made it downstairs on time to try it out. There was a welcoming are with board games and patio area with lights, very pretty we didn’t used it. The room was spacious and clean. The beds, bedding and pillows were clean but just not as comfortable as we hoped they would be. Still was nice to have a quiet clean room to come to after the long day at the park. There was a mini fridge in the room but no microwave, we had to go downstairs to use the microwave located in the lobby. There is decently priced sundries that can be paid at the lobby or charged at the room. Our stay was nice and quiet, staff was very friendly and helpful.
