I woke up in the early hours only to discover a massive bug (or more - as it was coming and going from underneath the bed) going around the room, and eventually disappearing underneath the carpet. The picture doesn't do the size justice, as it's taken from standing on the bed.
I packed my belongings and went to reception, asking for a new place where I could finish getting ready for work.
They first suggested using the gym showers...
After I pushed for a room, they suggested I used someone else's who had just checked out but the room hadn't been cleaned yet!
After I pushed back again did they give me a new, unused room....
I requested to be put in touch with the manager who is still (one month later) unresponsive via email about reimbursement.
Overall horrific experience, extremely poor customer service and more importantly, extremely poor hotel conditions. The hotel is just not clean enough for the price and number of stars it has - you can see the carpet is old and dusty, surfaces look dusty etc.
And in my 20 years of living in London have never, ever seen bugs. It's just unacceptable.
