Hotel needs TLC
The staff and food was good. The hotel definitely needs some attention to. Very run-down. Fixtures rusted and don'twork well.. towels, bedding, and cushions are very worn.....concrete walls and floors need repair.

Romanti escape
Nice and romantic, very nice room and beach. Pool was dirty in the morning (leaves and sand, not the water) but since it is small, it shoul be cleaned more often. Restaurant was very good, everything freshly cooked. I loved the people's attitude, everyone very smiley.

Peaceful, relaxing, zen. Very enjoyable. It’s the last hotel so nice to be remote & quiet.

Proximity to wonderful beach

6/10 Good

The room was very nice but did not have a/c as advertised. This was a serious problem given the heat and humidity. Without a/c the room was seriously over priced. The wifi also did not reach the room

The vibes were cool, Weather and things around it just make sense, a little bit expensive but not a crazyness.

Staff was super super helpful!! Always attentive and very nice to assure that everything was as expected. It’s a. 15 min walk to restaurants and about 25 to town itself but only a 3 min walk to the beach that was super clean and pretty and with very few people, loved it

I liked the quite and it is a charming place. I did not know that it does not have air conditioning, although the weather was great and we did not need it at all, in a different time of year it may be nice to have.

Being just out of the main area in a preserved nature reserve is exactly what I wanted. The hotel is designed to fit into this environment not take over it and the lay out of the space well thought out. I just found it strange the amenities of a “kitchen” was on paper only. Only one “kitchen” had a refrigerator and none of them had any utensils , plates, bowls, cooking equipment, etc. I saw multiple rooms to know this is fact. Our balcony had no furniture so all I could do was stand went I went outside for the beautiful view and to listen to the morning birds. I will go back but just with a better understanding of what to expect. Carrying a chair to the beach is no big deal especially when it’s right there and such an amazing beach with perfect sunsets and fine soft sand.

Friendly Service, Impractical Rooms
Attractive hotel close to the beach. The rooms were ok, although not very practical. There was a limited place to store items (no cupboards or closets), the kitchen had very limited equipment and utensils and the top floor bed was hanging from the ceiling which made it swinging and rather uncomfortable. The lower floor room had a solid bed which was a lot better. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast rather limited.

Not bad, not great
It’s a nice looking hotel. Air conditioning worked well. The included breakfast was decent. It’s very close to the beach. They offer beach chairs. The service was quite friendly. It’s nice and quiet as it’s about a 10 minute walk to town. The pool is very small. Our room and linens weren’t very clean. Rooms 1 and 2 have a sliding door that look directly into the common area/restaurant. The lights flicker constantly and sometimes just turn completely. I don’t think it quite matches what they charge.

s and downs This is a hostal wanting to be a hotel. Views are nice, staff very friendly and willing to help, do the best they can. Room did not look like the one in the picture. Staff told me it was the best view so I've dropped the argument and went on. Views are indeed great, it is a ver calm place, ideal for couples or solo people looking to disconnect. It would be better rated as 2 star hotel. They did never changed or renewed soap. When it rained water rinsed into the room and the kitchen was like a little lake. Mosquito window worked poorly and dinner took 2 hours to be prepared since they ran out of gas to cook food. When they succeeded it was delicious. In resume, its a friendly place, in a super amazing place, one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches in Mexico. Price might be cheaper, staff super friendly doing the best they can, and millions of mosquitos. Mosquito repelent and afterbite is a MUST since they, of course, do not sell them ther

We read the reviews thoroughly before deciding on El Cuyo and Lunarena. We knew the power goes off, bad internet, etc. There were things we loved about Lunarena and things which could be much better, which numerous other reviewers have mentioned, so it appears the management doesn't care to improve. Loved the quiet, the breakfast is great, the location is wonderful but the best part is the staff. They are amazing and they made our stay of 10 days very enjoyable. Our unit could definitely use some attention, the bathroom faucet is almost falling off and there was some staining in various places. However, that's not a big deal. The two things we think would make a big difference is darker curtains, as people are on vacation and would like to not wake up so early. The other thing is the kitchen. With what is available in the kitchen it is impossible to do any cooking, as it is very poorly equipped. As the staff is so accomodating, we continually asked for things and they had them available and gave them to us to use. However, I feel if you advertise that you have a kitchen, there should be considerably more than what there is. Despite those two things, we enjoyed our stay, it's a great place to stay in a wonderful little town.
