Smokers Delight!!! All non-smokers should refrain
They claim non smoking rooms but as soon as the balcony door is opened they have two chairs with a table with ash tray. The two adjoining balcony rooms had smokers with the ocean view and winds blowing caustic cigarette smoke into our room, very putrid! Also all around the outdoor area were cigarette smokers. Not a pleasant stay

A gem in South Padre
It is the second time we stayed in isla’s condo type room. The condo is awesome, full kitchen and utilities, ocean view balcony. All 3 TVs, only one works, but the staff repaired them in an hour. The pool is nice, 1 is heated. The only thing is the lifter for accessibility seems always broken and never be fixed. The steps in jacuzzi is pretty steep for handicapped people. Ask for accessibility room if you have difficulty to lift yourself from the toilet. Some condo have very low toilet, and some is normal height toilet. Access to the beach is very good, we enjoy it so much. The location is very good, walmart and HEB are 5 miles away. Watch for the resort fee, they insist the fee for condo is $50/day although during the booking in hotels.com it said $25/day. All Ice vending machine didnt work, and the front office told me to get ice from the bar. Overall, we love it there.

View from the room was spectacular Staff was very friendly and helpful. The 2 room condo needed just a few minor repairs to be a 5 star. We received a coupon for buy one get one free drink. But it was $21 total for the 2 drinks. Most of the regular price drinks were around $10 so felt this was misleading.

I wouldn’t stay again.
I wouldn’t stay here again. The facilities are aged and there are other much newer and nicer facilities to stay at on the island. They made us wear a wristband during our stay to show we were paying guests to be able to use the facilities, it felt odd to force this for our family. South Padre Island in general needs a face lift. It isn’t the destination I remember it being. Things are aging and little work is being done to update stuff. Many other better places in the world to visit.
