Nice hotel location was best and staff is very friendly

Decent Budget Hotel

Basic rooms providing all you need from a hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, tea/coffee available and the wifi was good. The furniture and decor is a bit dated but as long as it's clean who cares? Nice welcoming staff on reception too, thank you.

Nice hotel room with excellent views, staff very helpful and friendly , there is a bar and live entertainment which we was unaware of before booking but a nice surprise and also a restaurant which serves meals throughout the day.

Midweek three night stay, and was among the cheapest in the town. Nothing terrible about my stay, but certainly wouldn’t pay above a £50 for it. Room was in line with booking portal pictures, and has had recent redecoration, albeit with a sometimes sloppy finish. Relative to the price, everything is what you’d expect, cheapest pillows and towels, cheap little tv’s, and cheap ancillaries. Minor annoyances were i) a tv with poor connectivity, only packed up 10 random channels even after retuning ii) mattress springs were shot iii) no lamp in the room, so just main light or darkness. Any complaints? No. Would I stay again? I’d try to avoid it.

Nothing majestic about my room

My room was not a classic room when I compared it to photos on your website. I did not have lovely cushions or a fan to keep me cool. The room was stuffy and I could not breathe. The curtains were drawn but when I opened them the windows and balcony were filthy. On closer inspection I could see the bottom window had a wedge of toilet roll at the bottom to keep it closed. As soon as I opened the window it would not close unless I put the wedge of toilet roll back to stop the window opening again, the lock on the window above did not stay in place so I was left very vulnerable as the communal balcony could have meant anyone from another room could have entered my room and attacked me. The center window had 2 nasty cracks in it. I left the hotel without staying the night, having been promised by the Manager Expedia had not paid them and I would get my money back, this was not the case and I spent 48 hours messaging Hotels.com speaking to a different agent every time. Finally I gave in and accepted £25 credit.
The lock which sprung back and did not work
Filthy communal balcony
Two cracks in center window
How easy was it to hop over this to get into my room

We were very disappointed. Was very unclean in the room, there was a horrible smell and extremely dusty. There was pigeon feathers and a tampon on our floor! Very evident they had not cleaned it. Did not provide breakfast for room with 3 single beds. Said they do daily cleaning but only clean room once during our 3 night stay! Overall terrible experience and will not come again

The hotel was functional but could do with an refurbishment.

🌟 A Truly Majestic Experience in Eastbourne 🌟 From the moment I arrived at The Majestic Hotel, I felt genuinely welcomed. The elegant yet homely atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful stay, and every staff member exuded warmth and professionalism. 🏩 My newly refurbished room offered a breathtaking sea view—fresh, serene, and spotless. The hotel provides a range of beautifully presented rooms to suit all preferences. 🍽️ Mealtimes were a treat! Every dish was full of flavour, made with care, and served with genuine smiles. 🍸 The lounge and bar area are perfect for relaxing, and the patio out front is ideal for soaking in the sea breeze with a drink in hand. 🎶 Light entertainment on Wednesdays and Fridays adds to the magic—fun, lively, and utterly enjoyable. 💫 Special thanks to the lovely receptionist, the charming bartender, and the outstanding manager—the heartbeat of the hotel. 👨‍🍳 Tip: Ask about the beef lasagne—comforting, delicious, and reminiscent of my mum’s homemade version. 🙏 To the entire team: thank you for an unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be back! 📣 Don’t wait—book now and experience the charm for yourself.

Wont be coming back

Receptionist was lovely, after we went to room went to bar for beer, no carlsberg and the san miguel was flat, room was dirty, sheets had stain on, bathroom a smear of something *nasty* on the door frame, had breakfast which was cold, and sausages not cooked properly
Dee, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Unfortunately 1st room was dirty / windows were cracked had to ask for different room. Second room was ok but didn't realise until too late that towel rail didn't work. No control over heating in room so was cold & had to complain. Management controlled heating. No way to contact reception from room. Window wall was damp in the morning. Bed uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. The two members of staff were pleasant & tried to help. We asked for tea bags & milk for room but they had run out. Ran out off the parking permits. We stayed because it was too late to find another hotel & we weren't there long but wouldn't go back. Also upon arrival we were told we had to pay upfront which I was very unhappy about. Think Expedia should take this hotel off their website.

2/10 Poor

Avoid and believe the bad reviews.

If i could rate this a zero i would. Read the bad reviews and believe them. Reception is decorated lovely and gives a great first impression and corridors, stairs clearly had new carpet.... that is where it ends. I moved rooms twice and had to pay to get into the third room. Think old university halls of residence being amazing compared to this. Rooms and corridors smell of cigarette smoke , no hot water, paint splashes on everything , tv remotes look like they have been dug up , stained sheets, uncomfortable mattresses, bar poorly stocked ( barman said he was embarrassed to be there), reception not manned. Dirty plates and tables left in the restaurant . Ants in the rooms. I could go on. I was told it was undergoing refurbishment and not all rooms were done, this should be made clear on booking. The last room i went into had been re done allegedly, window wouldn"t stay open and one wouldnt open, cracked , filthy and covered in paint. Finished to a very poor standard with bare splintered wood showing. Thick dust on ledges and skirting. Room not cleaned daily as advertised. Out of date coffee sachets in the room. The managers/owners sat drinking all night in the bar and were very stand offish when I complained refusing to accept anything was wrong. 3 times checked my hot water and just kept telling me I had to go and run it ,left for 10 mins and still cold. It does not deserve the 3 star rating. The pictures on the site are completely deceiving . Spend your money elsewhere.

Cannot fault the staff they were very helpful and friendly -a couple of our group had mobility scooters but unfortunately no ramp to accommodate wheelchairs or scooters but they did very kindly lift up and down the stairs every day for us - the rooms were ok but in need of refurbishment and updating - could do with wi fi in the rooms and the menu could do with a little updating
